I really hated that too when I lived in my old apartment. They would also get drunk, blast loud music late at night, and it would sound like they were pile-driving each other into the floor above me!
But now that I live upstairs I worry sometimes that people below can hear me doing stuff. But I haven't gotten any complaints.
Upstairs noise is my #1 that I really hate, I'm VERY SENSITIVE to noise, it hurt my ears soooo much if it toooo loud, I can't help yelling shut up, but there is good news, there is less noise now, I hear noises in my living room, my bedroom & sometimes in my bathroom, I hear the toilet & the shower, the water pressure is not too good for the shower, I have a water heater, I don't like it, it get toooo cold for me even when it's in the 80s. I don't hear noises in my living room anymore unless they are vacuuming, I hear the noise in my bedroom. My sister is #2.
In my first apartment building, I lived on the third floor, big mistake! I have psoriasis, I also can have a sensitive stomach, it got TOOOOOO HOT in the summer, I kept throwing up ALOT! My sunscreen became sunscreen soup. I REALLY HATE it, but I loved it too, it was my first apartment, I was soooo excited, it also motivated me to go out twice a day, my apartment wasn't bad all the time. It felt like living in a hotel, the apartment building had 32 apartments. My second apartment was the first floor, I wanted to move out of the building, but I didn't find an apartment in time. I heard noises upstairs too, a woman & her teenage son lived over my head, he made alot of noise, it sounded like he was wrestling, his friends came over alot.
