Happy Canada Day/Night! I'm staying up all night to celebrate. I went to have a doughnut at Tim Horton's earlier this evening. It was wonderful.

Went to the beach.. it was a dull roar this year compared to last as the weather wasn't nearly as amazing. Last year there must have been 10,000 people on the beach due to ~30C weather & tour busses rolling up dropping people off for the carnival of an experience Wreck Beach is on Canada Day - seriously, it was a RAGER.. this year probably less than 2,000 people, BUT, it was still nice. A lot more.. intimate and chill. There were more cops than last year, but I still snuck a bag full of fireworks down that I saved from Halloween and passed them out amongst the Irish (so many Irish boys here on 3 month work visas all the time now - and they are seriously good people!) and we set them off just after sunset. After the we lit the first two, the entire beach erupted in cheers. It was pretty cool. Then of the ~6 cops down there, the only one that said a word to me was the one I was talking to about kiteboarding earlier on as he used to windsurf and wants to get into kiting.. (at that point in the day he had to do the obligatory thing and ask me to put my joint down in the sand lol but was super chill since we were talking about kiting and my brother that's in law enforcement) anyways, he walks by and all he said was "nice fireworks!" Ha! That beach is the BEST beach in the world! It's like a whole 'nother planet down there.. self regulating w/ very few of societies "sin laws" being enforced. Open drinking/drug use, sex on the beach at either end etc etc - just the freest most beautiful scenic place ever.. which is why I'm gonna go hop in my car in 5 mins and rip back there to spend the evening while the weather holds as it's about to get a little rainy for a few days.
