Great! I think I've made it through with your support (and only completed five or so quizzes along the way though I do enjoy them so). Sorry for all the confusion generated along the way. Still for better or for worse you have gained a little insight into my world.

I shall try to explain why the anxiety shot up over the tufted title - I was given many nicknames at school etc none polite, so am still very touchy about the subject. I know it is irrational.

The CBT is going well, and so having calmed down a lot this evening (these past 48 hours have been a rollercoaster) I hope that I'll be able to provide more positive/sensible comments that the site deserves (sometimes).

Failing that, I will try to communicate better.

Am now a blue jay - and became gloomy again immediately upon noticing it; not sure if "blue" or "jay" set me off.

I really need to investigate Aspieness and sensory issues (overload) - because it has been the effect on myself that I've been aware of, I have always assumed that this was the norm (the CBT is trying to convince me otherwise).

I can't imagine that I'll ever reach 1000 posts and overrule the birdie system (anyway most of them are fun), so back to the quizzes to increase my total - or maybe into the Haven for awhile.

I've already got like 200 posts, and I've never had over 200 on any forum I've joined before (even after posting for months and months) and I feel pretty comfortable on this forum...so I don't mind to be called a titmouse. It's a funny name, after all.

I think the problem is simply labelling and association. Some of the birdy names are too close to names I was tease with as a child but blue jay for some reason is simply upsetting (sends me to melancholy land). I know it is a bit of fun; now snowy owl would be fine (will I transform at 100 posts - if so, will be off to the off the wall forum quick?)

I do love this site; it is me (paranoia - persecution - I can do as soon as I leave the house) that is the problem.

As I've understood it, the forum is rigged up to asign those "titles" according to number of posts, and when you reach a thousand posts, you get to choose what it's going to be afterwards.

Reconcile yourself by the fact that it's not because someone wants to poke fun at you particular, it's just something the forum software does; the "poking fun"-load is spread out across the 11.000+ members here...
