Call me a masochist but I do enjoy that burning sensation you get in your throat from a glass of decent whiskey. With that said, I generally try to steer clear as too much of it is virtually guaranteed to 1) make me feel like a got a punch to the stomach from the hulk and 2) turn me temporarily insane. Still, it can be nice every now and then.

I forgot to mention that I do have GERD(Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) & alcohol can potentially aggravate that.

Same here. What kind of liquor do you prefer? Most of my friends absolutely cannot stand gin, but it's my go-to when I want to get a wee-bit eff'd up.

I had a year sober up last month. So I know it can definitely harm me because alcoholics can't just drink normally. That's the definition of it.
Objectively, too much or consistently over a long period, can absolutely harm you in really unglamorous ways. I used to work in a geriatric psychiatric asylum and the cases in there of alcoholic dementia were not pretty at all. Forget about worrying about your liver - enough alcohol poisons and erodes the brain in a way that it cannot recover from.

I generally prefer dry ones. I'll make an exception for rum, but I can't do bourbon. Other whiskys are fine.

Depends on the drink. Wine and beer give me headaches and hangovers if I overdo them. Fine whisky doesn't even give me a hangover. :)

I do get red wine headaches, but red wine is delicious so I'll drink it occasionally anyway.

No because I don't abuse it, sure I enjoy a couple of drinks at the weekend and after a long day at work but that's it.

Alcohol isn't good for me because I have a serious problem with moderation. 1 drink is too many, 10 is not enough.

In my drinking days my poison of choice was straight bourbon whisky, Wild Turkey or Jack Daniels. I looked forward to that burn in my throat which led to warmth in my stomach.
