High sodium content means chips are out of the question for me. I'm been eating "low sodium" Triscuit shredded whole wheat crackers today. I wish I had a little whipped cream cheese and garlic to spread on them :(

All this talk of chips now I'm eating some salty tostitos scoops corn chips with a pile of fat free sour cream and a bottle of Tabasco sauce that is older than some members on WP. Some family member obtained a large number of bottles of Tabassco aseveral years ago. :)

In the past I have cooked my own corn chips. When freshly made you need alot less salt to be happy.

Flo likes to lick cheesy puffs when I'm not looking.
Which is why you should never eat one if you see a random one in my room.

Never tried it but I do use NoSalt alot which is mostly potassium chloride its some what bitter and not as good as real salt. A good sodium free salt replacement would be an extremely valuable product worth in the tens of billions of dollars.

One thing that salt does in food is counter the bitterness. Food tends to get more bitter when its cooked so large amount of salt is used for that reason. There is company that is looking for a bitterness blocking agent so salt/sodium content in food can be reduced.
The company is http://www.linguagen.com but their weblink did not work when I tried it.

Seems its now FDA approved.

I like the chips made by AMD that run at 3GHz and can be overclocked even higher. Unfortunately they are 230$ and require a different type of motherboard and RAM than my current computer.
