Yeah, I definitely agree. I don't like it when strangers use words that should be terms of endearment. I know it's just how some people refer to customers, but it made me feel a bit uncomfortable when clerks said honey or love when I visited the US and UK. One clerk called me mate, I was more okay with that, at least it's less intimate than honey/love.
