Actually there is evidence, from his family, his interaction with others, his own writing. I'm usually suspicious of posthumous diagnosis, but in his case there's a lot of evidence pointing at it. We may even know for sure one day, if they learn to tell by looking at the brain.

i have wondered about Tori. She's a very visual thinker. She visualises her music as architecture. I know that doesn't make her aspie but there are also various other aspects of her life that suggest AS-like traits.

I don't think Love has AS, far too socially cunning. I'm sure Attwood has mentioned he has diagnosed a few actresses with AS. Kidman? Zellwegger, no I doubt it. Anyway the author Patricia Highsmith had it for sure! Hows about Kate Bush?

Florence Nightengale is said to have some of the traits.

I knew Daryl Hannah was diagnosed with AS!

I think you could make a better arguement for Kurt Cobain, which isn't saying he had AS.

As for the rest I either don't know, or don't think so. Tori Amos is someone who tours a lot and I don't think that would sit comfortably with AS.

And Shannon Doherty seems too happy with conflict.


I think Björk has hints, unorthodox clothing, apparent meltdowns...but still, AS is a spectrum disorder, it grades into NT imperceptably, so probably, you could find evidence for anyone having AS at some point or other in their lives.

I may be misunderstanding you but are you saying that Nicole Kidman and Renne Zwellger were diagnosed by Attwood ?

I see Winona Ryder having it, Courtney Love and Daryl Hannah yes. Tori Amos and Bjork, I can feel aspie traits. I've also read that Slyvia Plath and Emily Bronte had it, which I can definitely feel from them.

She was diagnosed as having mild autism as a teenager.

I really have my doubts about Tori, Jennifer and Shannon.

Courtney Love is your textbook thrill seeking ADHD type, which is not mutually exclusive with asperger's, but she doesnt seem at all aspie to me.

So I dont see how she belongs on the list.

In fact Finona Apple is the only strong candidate on the list by the OP.

Maybe Love used to show traits, but now she is so drugged up no one can tell.

I can personally vouch for Darryl Hannah being one of us. She and I have a same special interest (weird Diesel cars & trucks), and she wanted to buy one of my Toyota Hilux 4x4 Diesels a few years ago, but I didn't want to sell.
