My comment about having fun killing the fish, was meant to be a joke.....

Remember all animals has to be killed before you can eat them, so unless you are a vegetarian you are no better.

I put the fish back in the water after I catch them.

what about the injuries after they swallow hooks or something? also, you imagine the terror/fear and pain?

anyway,... even if you didn't put the fish back in the water, and even if you felt hungry and wanted to eat them, i hope the lion "NEVER" attacks you.

that's a good enough reason IMO.

No. It was a pointless thing of pull them out of the water, get them off the hook, toss them back in, repeat.

I'm from Louisiana & seafood is pretty popular there. I grew up eating that alot including every Friday during Lent. I love fried fish & shrimp. I used to go fishing some as a kid & teen but I was never into it a whole lot. I won 2nd place for most fish caught at a special fishing rodeo when I was a kid but I only won that because certain fish had to be released & the same one kept biting on my line over & over again.

I'm confused. Is this supposed to be ironic, or meant as a joke? Subtext? Something?
If not, why would you do that? And more to the point, why would you post TMI telling everyone about it???
To the original question no I do not. I'm vegetarian, and Buddhist. This would be horrifying for me.

i don't think so--but i've never been fishing either.
i don't eat fish (or any meat) and i don't like killing or hurting.
i definitely enjoy the sitting on a boat in the middle of a lake for hours side of fishing.
i have also enjoyed watching that tv show river monsters with jeremy wade xtreme fisherman. i watched it at my parent's house and my mom thought it was funny that i liked it.

I go fishing from time to time with my dad and cousin. Ocean, river and lake are all close by.

The closest I came to fishing was when I was playing with my hula hoop at age 3 or 4 and dropped it in the lake and some guy with a fishing rod got it out. And when I went fishing at camp once but we never caught anything, and thank God... I wouldn't have been able to stand seeing them suffocate, and would have thrown them back in the water. And at sailing camp when some kids had little fishing rods. They got some poisonous-looking fish and put them in a boat full of water to look at, then the sun cooked them, boiling them essentially in the little boat. I felt bad.

I liked it as a kid. As I've grown older I see some ethical issues with it. I don't like that the fish can get hooks caught in their lips. Plus being pulled out of the water rapidly must be scary for the fish.
