I have become comfortable with face to face communication, but I sound like a complete idiot when using voicemail. I have literally never said anything intelligent into "blank air."

Ha Ha , yeah me too , it's like I have the script in my head ready for a real person then when it's voicemail the script goes up in flames and it's like "Um , Hi , Um , Ahh , Um , I'll ring you back " , if I had planned for voicemail it would be fine.

I tend to sound like a robot when it's time to say something into voicemail.

The power has been out since Hurricane Irma came. Right now, it turned back on for one second before going off again.

Thanks, SF! In my area, we are safe now, just hot because there's no air conditioning.

About half the residents of Florida don't have power.

Perhaps it would help C2V if you had an advocate make the phone calls for you. You could try finding a new dentist is the that isn't an option.

Wrong number text messages on my cell phone. I keep getting text messages for the same (wrong) person all the time.

The year end tennis tournament in London is actually abbreviated as WTF (World Tour Finals). The first year I watched it seriously, 2009, it actually left me wondering WTF. The best players were all doing awful and the winner of that year's tournament has since retired. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, however, are at the top once again. That's not WTF, that's WOW!

I wish could remember the exact phrasing.

But one time when I recorded the outgoing salutation on our answering machine it came out something like "Just start talking and identify yourself, and we may pick up the phone, or not."

I meant to imply that "we might be home, or we might not be", but it was a little too obvious what I REALLY meant. Which was "you say who you are, and then we will decide whether or not you are worth talking too".

Our neighbor, and my gf, all thought it was hilarious.

Later I changed it to a more polite version of the same idea. "just start talking, if we are here we will pick up, and if we are away then we will have your message !".

But some friends liked the old version better. I guess that it was so bad that it was good!

As we speak some hapless person who works with that person who is texting you is NOT getting their important work related messages because the person who is texting you has their real contact's phone number slightly wrong. So you ought to text that person who is mistakenly texting you back and tell them that "I think that you have the wrong number".

I was looking at googled images of really ridiculous warning labels. There were labels on packages on almond Hershey bars warning allergy sufferers it may contain traces of nuts. One was on a pair of men's jeans telling them to be careful not to get in their own zipper. And of course there was the Superman costume made for an adult warning that wearing the costume will not make you able to fly like Superman. Superman's own costume doesn't give him the ability to fly, he just wears it whenever he *does* fly because it's his superhero identity, duhhh!

Speaking of stupid warning labels, I bought some of those inflatable drink holders shaped like donuts and pink flamingos that make cute little swim rings for my Barbie-type dolls. They have warnings printed on them not to use them as a flotation device. How could a real human being float on those things, anyway?

Buying milk that is before the sell by date and it spoils before the sell by date. WTF? We even kept it in the fridge. This happens to us from time to time.

I kept getting these weird texts from someone and few of them would be curse words. I finally responded one day asking who is this and the response was "WTF the mother of your kids." I then thought it was my brother's ex girlfriend so I said her name with a ? mark at the end and the perosn texts back saying "isn't this Ryan, and she texts me the number she was calling" and I said she had the wrong number and I am not the father of her kids. Then finally she responded back apologizing telling me her phone went for a swim and she was off by one number and thanked me. I never got those weird texts again. I bet now she realized "no wonder he hasn't been answering my texts."

^ Poor Ryan, looks like he's about to cop it from his missus.
