Defiantly better then World War II.

Because of technology we are much more aware and relatively minor incidents go viral and are blown out of preportion.

If one would thoroughly read history, one would realize that "the world" was always "bad."

This does not prevent me from having a certain amount of optimism.

No, I don't believe that we're significantly any more peaceful than anywhere in the past. If we were really any more peaceful, you wouldn't hear as much potent talk about World War 3 today. And the death and destruction of that will be worse than the second world war. Think about it.

Most of it saying that we need to have optimism is just making simple statements.
Reminds me of my mom, she is so naggingly optimistic and doesn't believe bad things will happen like that.

First off, machines won't ever take over entirely, because there are certain jobs robots can't do, mainly the arts. Robots can't create stories or sing songs other than "Mr. Roboto". There will always be jobs for us.

Many say the world isn't getting worse, it's just the news reporting everything right away. As much it sucks now, I'm sure there were darker times in history, like the world wars. We'll get through it.

I can only compare this decade with the last one, but I know hands down 2008 was the best year ever, and it all went downhill from there. And it wasn't just political, entertainment went to crap too.

What's hurting us the most is how divided the not-so United States is. It's all come down to me vs you and my way or highway. Don't know who started it since each side will say it was the other. But it doesn't matter because that's what it is now.

As a conservative who doesn't get along with leftists myself, I'm glad we're all friends here. But it isn't like that everywhere. At first I thought it was just this country, but then I started seeing horrible news happening all over and realized it's bad everywhere.

The worst part is that there isn't anything we can do about it but ride it out. There are billions in the world, and short of becoming a political leader, none of us are going to make a big enough impact to change it. As much as I would like to suggest to just try to live life normally, everything going on right now affects you more than you realize. It's why I hate people who don't care about politics or who they're president is. Politics affects each and every part of our daily lives and is the difference in living like we are or living like the people in Syria.

My best advice? Keep updated on the news. Everything starts with education. It'll be a lot easier to solve a problem when you know how. That's why after our economy, our second biggest priority should be improving the education system.
