I raise cattle for human consumption and I eat beef and other meats. I also hunt wild game. I am always humble and grateful when I take an animal's life to feed myself or others. It's sacred.

I try not to eat baby animals, they need to live and experience the earth before they are turned into my meal.

i eat what i like, when i like it. so, omnivore.
i have streaks when i focus more on fruits, salad, or leaning towards the vegetarian side of things, and vice versa.

the whole moral reasons thing about vegetarians is strange, in my eyes. as has been pointed out by dejaq, the matter, if seen as a whole, is that what is edible for us, partook in a process we call life. qualifying animals a special status because most of them have eyes just doesnt cut it as a serious argument. if that is your problem about eating animals, better be honest about it, that you find animals too cute to eat or whatever... but dont try to go all morals on people with that twisted argument.

at the moment I am an omnivore.

I was a chef, I became a Vegetarian Chef and ate turkey sandwiches for a guilty treat, when the restaurant went Vegan, I became a Vegan chef and egg salad and cheese sandwiches. When the restaurant went Satvik vegan, we crushed or ate no seed and I secretly ate soy tofu for my guilty pleasure. Gawd, I love my protien!

obviously none of this was a 'spiritual' thing for me, I just cooked the food. for years! but that was a long time ago and my culniary tastes have changed.

Now I am fond of seedless watermelon and ground turkey sandwiches on whole wheat.

and dried apricots.

I'm a vegetarian because I don't like meat. The tendons and stuff are gross. It's too bouncy and stringy and icky. A lot of it is a texture thing, I guess.

Omnivore. I dwelt upon the idea of becoming vegan at one point, until I came to the conclusion that even if I was only eating plants I'd still be destroying a form of life, so until I can learn to harness energy directly from the sun, I think I'm sticking to being an omnivore.
It takes about 10 calories worth of plants to make 1 calorie of animal flesh. You would save more plants by eating them directly.

You do these things, because your body knows better than to starve itself from precious meat. Just honour the sacrifice of the animal and give it a proper burial or something and that might allay your meat problems. I dont bury my prey, but I try and remember that it died for me.
Maybe you're right. it's not so much me feeling bad for the animal it's more in-between hating the taste of meat and then feeling bad for the animal. What really makes me extremely sick is when I bite into a stringy tendon I can not hold back the spewing vomit when that happens  altho I am sure there are ways of becoming a healthy vegetarian but I'm not yet inclined of changing my diet habits to meet the nutritional needs of vegetarian.

Pescetarian.
I eat fish but no other flesh.
I used to be vegan/totally vegetarian.
I abhor meat and in truth, I am growing less fond of fish, with all the bones etc evident.
I love animals, I abhor the methods of farming used for mass marketed produce and I simply don't feel a need for meat.

my main motivation to stay being an omnivore is the fact that i regularly donate blood and not eating meat causes low hemoglobin, without which i would be refused. i was refused once because of it. and i would not like replacing the appropriate stuff by some pills.

I eat anything I wish--- there are many fruits/vegetables I love as well as meats. I also like some foods that are of questionable origin, such as Taco Bell...

I am vegetarian.

Today at a 60th birthday party at a very expensive restaurant, I was served a 'vegetarian' meal.

One bite of the risotto and I started gagging.

The chef had cooked it in a seafood stock - yucko!

I sent the meal back.

I eat meat. I prefer salmon to beef though. I like bacon, fried pig skin and beef jerky.

I never understood this. What I mean is the people (alot of them, too) who say this: "I'm a vegetarian but I eat only fish, not meat."
Is a fish a plant? No, it is an animal. If you are eating an animal then how could you say you're a vegetarian? Because animals have meat ( this would include fish). So the restaurant where you ate at must believe in this askew version of vegetarianism as well. Would it make any more sense for someone to say "I'm a vegetarian but I eat only pork, not beef or fish or chicken."? Anyone see what I mean with this?

A lot of vegetable soup is served in some meat broth, this is the same sort of thing.

I'm allergic to nuts and a lot of food doesn't contain actual nuts, but nut oils, but it never gives you a warning that the oil in the ingredients is nut oil.

Foods ( well, prepackaged ones are the ones I mean) should have ALL ingredients listed so that everyone knows what they are eating. This would prevent alot of emergency room trips.

I'm a vegetarian for humane reasons. Animals these days are treated like nothing but meat machines. Factory farming is a living nightmare.
