The only time I have peed outside a toilet was when I was a baby, in my diaper. Otherwise, I always go in a toilet. I clam up anywhere else, even in the sea.

Peeing in the toilet & the shower ends up going in the same place which is the sewer. Animals pee in the backyard all the time so I don't see a problem peeing there too unless other people can see you. Fish & other sea animals pee in the ocean so I don't see a problem peeing there either; plus the ocean is so big it will be extremely diluted.. Peeing in the pool is bad thou because you & other people are swimming in it. What's worse than peeing in the pool thou is whizzing on the electric fence :arrow:

You are, of course, aware of the incomprehensible levels of urine and feces dumped into the ocean by sea life on a daily basis?

Yes, folks like you must be the reason that ship owners must spend millions (maybe billions) of dollars annually on needless waste sequestration.

Dogs pee all over the place. No one cares. But if a person pees on the same tree they freak out.

But what if you're going camping somewhere that doesn't have toilets? Also I don't see what is so bad about peeing in the shower, if you leak any on yourself you have soap and rinsing water right there....that might be the cleanest place to pee actually.

That might seem needless while a ship is way out in the open ocean, and I would guess at least some discharge is allowed there. But after toilet tissue, turds and other such items of disgust began floating up and back onto their own beaches, the Florida Keys had to stop pumping sewage out into the sea...

Dilution is apparently sufficient for dealing with the waste of sea creatures and it can be fine to occasionally pee or poop over the gunwale...but dilution-bound concentrations of human waste are a different matter.

If the water is chlorinated, it probably kills the germs and stuff, but yes, it's still gross.

If you pee in the pool that's a problem, but those other places I don't see a massive issue with, since like other people have said other animals just urinate and defecate there anyways. I mean, unless you want your neighbor to question you, you shouldn't be peeing in your yard, but that doesn't mean their dog isn't doing the same exact thing. It's not really a sanitary issue in that regard...

Also, what's up with all the pee threads? :lol:

I remember on a snorkeling trip in Hawai'i, the guide actually told us to pee in the water if we needed to. There was a bag that would need to be used if someone had to do #2, though.

There is actually a kind of fish in some places (I think it's freshwater, though, but I could be mistaken) that is drawn to the ammonia (I think) in urine, and I'll just say that if one of those is nearby, you don't want to be peeing in that water, even over the side of a boat. It's a parasitic fish that is drawn to the ammonia other fish release, but it can't tell the difference between that and human urine.
