And therefore it follows that anyone taking two spaces is probably doing it on purpose, as a way to proudly show how little they care about anyone else who may have wanted one of them.

The good thing about you is that you already have your Penelope.

You're going to get what she knits NOW, not 20 years from now.

I had to google Penelope as I hadn't heard that expression , My GF agrees that I am the luckiest man alive to have her

I don't get the knitting reference though - can you explain.

I probably make more subtle references than people realize a lot of times people don't catch on, but its because of a lack of original ideas on my part. I am not trying to be un-original but yeah I feel like a lot of times when I come up with something funny or clever to say its heavily influenced by something I have seen or heard before.

Thanks for letting me know I am not alone in my thinking.

You have "Ulysses" in your tagline.

Ulysses (also known as Odysseus) was in Homer's work known as the "Odyssey" (hence the word "Odyssey.")

His wife, Penelope, constantly knitted while he was gone on his adventures. Probably to keep her mind off him not being there with him. Ulysses was gone for 20 years on his adventures, so Penelope knitted for 20 years.

I didn't get the Penelope reference right either then  I thought it meant this https://www.urbandictionary.com/define. ... m=Penelope

You are a veritable feast of knowledge KK.

The Ulysses in my sig is from the kids cartoon Ulysses 31

and this is the only Homer I know

Good one! LOL

I believe most scholars believe there was a Homer who lived in about 750 BC or so. This was during what is known as the "Archaic" period of Greek history. Not much is known about this era.

Homer's stories were oral history. There is speculation that they were first actually written after Homer passed away.

I like history---a lot.

I'm not an expert at it. But I've learned some things over the years.

I bet you would enjoy reading "The Odyssey," if you haven't read it already.

I am not a fan of reading books unless they are reference books.

I think we have totally gone off topic here and ruined Sweetleaf's thread

Sorry Sweetleaf

I screwed up, too. Sorry about that.

I hope Ferris will forgive me. He's much more clever than I am. I'm just a Wolfman, really.

My wife says "thanks for the history lesson" when she wants to be sarcastic.

I hope Ferris isn't upset with me.

Forgive you for what ? You haven't done anything wrong.

I doubt I am cleverer than you , we are equals although you are more lupine than me.

I wasn't being sarcastic , I was being genuine ( I know it's hard to believe sometimes  )

I am not upset with you KK , me and you have the ability to go off topic a lot , I don't think it's a bad thing , we mean well although the OP might not things so.

Nicely back on topic dude , I hope Sweetleaf sorts the problem out.

In the UK there are Facebook pages designated to bad parking and have titles like 'Parking like a twat in ( Insert area where you live here)' , people post a picture of the offending vehicle hopefully shaming the driver , I wonder if there is a Colorado name and shaming page?

Might be worth a try, I have been trying to find a copy of my lease to see if there are any specific parking rules listed on there such as only using one parking space per vehicle. If there is nothing like that though not sure management would bother doing anything about it.
I think a person who parks like that cares more about their vehicle not getting scratched or something than they do about being considerate so I doubt a note will do any good. Hopefully property management will do something. They could start by sending notes to everyone explaining that people are supposed to park in the space & they could get in trouble if they keep it up like maybe have their vehicle towed.

You could always massacre the car in half with a chainsaw, but I think the note is a better idea.

I still don't think that is a good reason to park like that, if everyone took up two spots to keep their car getting scratched there would never be enough parking spaces. However I don't think that is the case as this truck is a bit dinged up and its not taking up two spaces next to each other...its the space she's parked in and the one in front of it.

Also though based on how often people express frustration about crappy parking, I'd think people worried of getting their car scratched would be worried about parking like that in case someone comes and scratches it out of anger.

But yeah maybe not big enough of a deal to consult management...at this point there is still plenty of room to park outside those two spaces. But I will probably still leave a note just so they know someone disapproves of their terrible parking but i don't expect it to do anything, except maybe irritate them because its on bright pink paper and I included a drawing of how they should park and how they should not.

Naw.

Just take a car key and run it the length of the parked car to make a big long gnarly obvious SCRATCH in the paint.

Not only will that earn you revenge, but it will cause the car to "loose its virginity" and the asshat wont need to protect its virginity anymore, and he will just park it normally :D
