Anyone know if it’s available to stream anywhere online? Would be nice to see and hear the whole first episode. Based on an article I read about it I definitely missed some key scenes.

Roseanne is on Hulu :D

Whatever that is, I don't have it.

I assume it's some sort of subscription service like Netflix.

I've never used Netflix, either. (Although I've watched some at friends.)

Actually, I've never owned a TV in my life. True story.

Someone just looked up and put the first episode of the new Roseanne season on the TV so now I can hear and see what I missed the first time through. 8)

www.hulu.com

Yes, it's a subscription service, but unlike Netflix, if you have a PC (and if you're in USA?) you can go to their website and watch a lot of content for free (with ads). Including the new Roseanne.

IIRC, stuff that's currently airing gets cycled out after a while.

Umm...actually, correction, I am logged in with my subscription, so I cannot say for sure whether or not Roseanne is free.

So I re-watched the first episode and one of the things I paid attention to was whether or not Roseanne actually mentions Trump by name. Nope. Some people apparently have latched onto the show as being right-wing Trump supporting, however, I agree with the statements by the actress that plays Darlene who's the executive producer of this reboot when she clarified that Trump is never mentioned by name and won't be, that the show focuses on what happens when families are divided over politics. It's true. Roseanne's character is pro Trump & Co. while Jacky's is pro lefties. The banter & jokes between are very clever and quite funny. The writers are all lefties in real life, and Roseanne Barr is an actual Trump supporter. I don't see the show as pro either but I can see how either side can appreciate it and also how some may interpret it as pro Trump if they want to latch onto the pro right wing statements and ignore the pro left wing ones. Same could go the other way for lefties but it's unlikely. I think very right wing people are more likely to do the latching as they seem to be grasping at straws for any sort of pop culture or celebrity endorsements of their political views at the moment.

I'm also glad I re-watched it and caught the rest of the jokes about Darlene's likely-gay 9yo son. As a gay man, I think they've written & portrayed these things very, very, well. All good laughs and serious thoughts, nothing appalling or offensive about it at all. Not that I've heard anyone complain about it (and there's usually at least one hypersensitive gay out there who will whine about any gay-ish character on TV  ) I'm just making my comment that I think they've incorporated this theme into their show very, very, well. 8)

That show has always had a lot of homosexual characters, though.

Show's been cancelled because Roseanne couldn't refrain from being a racist b***h on twitter:

Now if only someone could cancel a certain presidency...

I haven't watched the show yet but I think it's a shame cuz it sounds like the show had potential.

Never watched it and never wanted to, from what little I did see when it came up on T.V sometimes growing up I didn't see what was so great. An obnoxious, unpleasant woman with a nasty attitude is always what she has seemed like to me...turns out its not just her character, its how she actually is.

^^^I found the characters kind of relatable especially David & Darlene. My mom was kind of unpleasant with a nasty attitude when she dealt with me cuz she didn't know how to deal with my issues & got frustrated with me
