Mary Read/Mark Read

I have two fancy goldfish, which I named Calico Jack and Anne Bonny after the real life pirates. (Yes, I was watching Black Sails at the time, but I did quite a bit of googling afterwards.) They had another friend called Mary Read, who was originally disguised as a boy called Mark, so she could be a pirate. So she fits in well with your unknown gender situation.

When you say parrot, I do think of pirates, and it would to be great to know that Jack and Anne's other partner is out there somewhere. :)
