Lol....they seem more like 70s commercials to me.

They were around in the 80's too and I remember watching them all the time. Anyway, I wish El Paso would bring that back because it's classic.

They used to have nice cigarette commercials----before they banned them (for an excellent reason).

Anybody ever had an egg cream?

I once got one for 12 cents in the late 1970s----at a luncheonette on 75th Street and Columbus Avenue

You'll wonder where the yellow went
When you brush your teeth with Peps-o-dent!

I have seen modern-day commercials that are too nuanced. I watch the whole commercial and then ask myself "What product are they advertising?" Sometimes these are part of a campaign and the question is answered when the expanded commercial is later released. If I were buying ads, I think I would nix this approach in favor of one where you can tell what is actually being sold.

Today, virtually every ad seems to take place in the bedroom or bathroom. Then there are the ads for medications.

Remember those Anacin commercials where they would have some guy in a suit talking vaguely scientific?

I like the old gravy train ad where a covered wagon rode into the bag of dog food, and the tidy bowl man in the little boat floating in the commode.

Yep....Especially the Tidy Bowl Man!

I liked Gravy Train, too.

Of course, one cannot forget Morris the Cat!

I definitely remember Morris the Cat! The pet food commercials were always the best!
