They say that more Americans are killed by allergic reaction to bee stings each year than are killed by sharks every 10 years.

What a horrible comment.

I built an ultrasonic "Shrieker" that works effectively on my neighbor's dogs. I calculated that when fully charged, it puts out about 120dB within the 22kHz to 24kHz range.

If you have a problem with a dog owned by people, mess with the people, not with the dog. This is just animal abuse. Who even does this... Wow...

Can't believe these type of comments are allowed. Feel that if this topic was about cats, it would be gone pretty quickly. As a blind dog owner, reading this topic is painful.

If you were attacked by a dog, and feared for your life, what would you do? Try to reason with it?

Firearms make very useful dog-control weapons. I suspect that a disproportionate rate of autists are attacked by dogs.

I was attacked twice by dogs when I was a kid , as an adult people think I seem to have some magical power ( yeah right ) with dogs.

I've been bitten by dogs before but that didn't stop me from owning three right now.
About a month ago I was walking down my drive with my Catahoula and up the drive came a huge pit bull.
Catahoulas can be aggressive and protective and I figured I was fixing to see a horrid dog fight that I safely could not break up.Instead the pit just ignored my Catahoula and it followed me back to the house where it jumped on the bed on the back porch.Ok, I'm not going to try to get him to leave. He looked well taken care off so I figured it's a neighbor's dog and he would leave.Next morning I opened the door and he was still there, and he just pushed past me and came on inside and jumped up on the couch. This is a huge dog, like mastiff sized. And a total gentle giant.
He even got in the bed with me that night to sleep.Next day I was giving my dogs a treat of hot dogs and I offered him one.He spit it out lol and the corgi ran up and grabbed it.Haha After a few days he went home and I found out from neighbor's who he belonged to and that they fed him steak. No wonder he went home. The hospitality was good at my house but the food was bad.

I have been attacked by a psychotic dog. Laid the dog on his side and calmed him down. I was 7. Wasn't a small dog as well. Afterwards, the dog licked me on my face and was upset, the poor thing.

Aggressive dogs don't scare me. Have been around many. You just need to know how to react to them.

People make dogs aggressive.

As someone who uses and relies on a service dog, these comments seem so mean. I've been bit by dogs before but I never blamed the dogs.

I never blamed the dogs, but on two occasions I was nipped on the ankle by a chihuahua and a Scottie.I was just walking past the houses, the owners shoul have known the dogs were nippers and had them on a leash.
I was more concerned with rabies shots being up to date.
It’s just a sad fact that there are fatal dog attacks.
I’m allergic to yellow jackets, so more nervous around them than a dog.

Thankfully, the situation turned out well for you. But that's not always the case. I agree, people are to blame for creating aggressive dogs.
