I believe I recall my parents telling me my real name is from a movie they both like, the title character.

My username is just what my two main obsessions were at the time I joined. I really wish I could change it to "Dragonfire," that's kind of my standby now for anything where I have to create a username, and I think it sounds much better. That would be because I have the soul of a dragon, and I thought "dragonfire" sounded better than just "dragon."

That actually seems like a really cool thing to name your kid.

It gets even funnier with my surname which means a rope to hang people/yourself with.

My first name was a name my mother has always loved and had decided to give a daughter should she have one. No reason, she just likes it.
I have always hated that name, and officially took another name that I like. No particular reason for that name either,, only that it's an okay name I thought I wouldn't tire of.

I have some nicknames derived from special interests, and I far prefer those to any real name, as those are what I truly identify with. My WP name means turtle. I'v always preferred nicks connected to interests, special interests or obsessions.

My old user name from ten years ago reflected my love of cats. It no longer applies, because only one of those cats from that group of felines is still alive. The others have all passed away from old age.

I have an unusual name based on Greek mythology. My father told me he selected it because he was a fan of Homer but I always jokingly replied that he was just stoned (1969). I am 48 and it was only a few years ago that an uncle told me the truth: my mother ran away from home when she was 16, and went under a new, hippie name. Her mother hated that name. My mother had me at 19 and to spite her own mother...gave me her hippie name. So, I was named out of spite.

My Mom was pregnant with me when she was watching BMX Beat, then she saw this kid:

She liked the name so much, she decided to name me that way.

My Wrong Planet name came from me being a misfit during my high school years given that many of my classmates rejected people who weren't hipster-wannabes, punk-rocker types, or just a-holes.

While some peers were relatively good people, I was just desperate to fit in and most didn't like desperate types, so I felt like an anonymity, an outsider.

I can relate to that. I wasn't part of any known clique. In junior high, they had the "stoners" and the "sports flies." I was neither one. I preferred to read, study and get good grades. I was a very unusual person. At the time, my special interest was Japanese culture. I was also starting to get interested in the subject of autism.

I got my real first and middle name after my two aunts. My WP name is from my fondness of black cats.

My arrival six years ago was when I was into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I need to get back into it, even though it's still on the air, although I haven't heard much about it lately; that covers the "Equestria" part of the name. The "L.A." part of the name is Los Angeles. I still love that city. :D

I was named after someone who used to babysit my sisters. I don’t know anything about her, and I never met her.
