Then again just because evil things were done in the past that shouldn't mean that people have to keep doing evil things today.

"Roma Eterna" is a collection of speculative fiction stories in novel format by American writer Robert Silverberg, published in 2003. It presents an alternative history in which the Roman Empire survives to the present day, intact.

One of my favorite "What If" books.

America had VERY strong resistance toward entering in to the European war which would become WWII; some were pacifists, some felt it was Europe’s problem, and some were simply war-weary from the horror of WWI.

No one in America, except for American spies in Germany, had any idea of the dreadful potential of the Nazi philosophy.

If we had stayed out of the conflict for even a few years, they would have achieved the world domination they sought.

What would the world be like if humans never existed?

Alternate history has always been a fascinating topic to me.

What if the Abrahamic religions had never become as widespread as they did?

What if the Continental Congress had made a serious attempt to abolish slavery?

What if Columbus and his crew were never heard from again?

What if the 1848 Revolutions had greater success?

What if the nationalists had won the Chinese Civil War?

What if Tsar Alexander II had not been assassinated?

What if Brad Pitt never had an affair with Angelina Jolie?

It is not a special interest of mine but I do dab into alternate histories once in a while and find them interesting.

What if the Cuban Missile Crisis had gone the other way, thus plunging the world into a global thermonuclear war by the end of 1962?

What if Gavrilo Princip missed his chance to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand? What if his bullet had missed or his gun had jammed?

What if Pierre Curie had mot met and married Marie Skłodowska?

What if Alex Plank had been born neurotypical?

If the Nationalist Chinese had won, instead of Mao’s armies, decades of suffering, torture, and starvation would not have happened to the Chinese people.

And the Vietnam Nam War would never have happened.

What if Watergate never happened?

I am surprised nobody asked this yet.

What if Hillary won?
The day after the inauguration the Republican Congress would have launched impeachment proceedings.
There would have been some terrorism to protest the “rigged” election.
Trump would be gearing up to run next year.

I love alternate history! I've written novels based on alternate history questions like the ones posed here. They were usually related to my special interests at the time. What if commercial radio was invented several decades earlier? What if the Confederacy had been allied with England in the American Civil War? What if our society was audio-based instead of visual?
