Midland, Texas, especially if you're not religious.

Nearly everyone there goes to church every Sunday.

It's a 5 hour drive to the nearest big metro area. There's only about 250,000 people in this metro. Flights out of the airport are very expensive and often fully booked.

Cost of living is comparable to California without any of the benefits of living in California like beaches, mountains, good food, etc.

It's a depressing desert landscape everywhere as far as the eyes can see.

Well if we're talking just about USA... I don't know; not very familiar with any particular places there. I've heard that LA has a very high crime rate and is expensive, so not there. Some very conservative areas would be out, too, though I'm not able to name any specific towns or cities.

In the whole world -scale... well, I'm a woman so I'd rather avoid all places where the oppression of women is legal and/or socially acceptable, like certain places in middle east.

If I were to talk about just my home country... Kilpisjärvi or Utsjoki would both be a no no. I grew up in a farm in a small town, but those two places are way too in the middle of nowhere even for me.

Pretty much any Middle Eastern or African country, because of the way women are generally treated.

Ebola, malaria, sleeping sickness, yellow fever, and MERS-Cov don't sound like a fun time, either.

The worst place to live, for me, is in a city and a cold city is even worse. Too many people, too much noise, can't breathe. After some thought, I think that would apply across the earth.

One of the poles. The earth turns so much slower there so one risks flying off into space due to the lack of gravity... 8O Apart from that... They are cold.

In North America e.g. USA and Canada, honestly I would really not want to live in Houston, TX or Gulfport, MS. Except for the lack of cold weather, these places just don't appeal to me, culturally, meteorologically, or otherwise.

At the other extreme, I can't imagine myself living in a place like Saskatoon. I just don't think I'd ever learn to tolerate the winters there. Winnipeg might actually have harsher winters but to me as an American, Saskatoon just seems more remote.

Ever blow up a balloon and then let it go? Bump into one of those Hollywood inflated egos and watch them go PFTHPFTHPFTHPFTHPFTHPFTHPFTH all over the street, leaving nothing but a flacid person lying on the sidewalk.

As far as US states go, California and New York seem to be the most immoral, as well as the least free. Count me out.

Really? I live in California, and I haven't witnessed (or participated in) any form of "immorality" that I haven't witnessed (or participated in) elsewhere, including Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Far East, and the Middle East. The places you mentioned are no worse than any other place, they just get used as the settings for more movies and sitcoms deserving an R rating.

I have to agree. Many people in California are religious including Roman Catholic, and morality is no different than in other states. There's a misconception about California being immoral or self-centred because of the movie industry, but in my experience it isn't. I can't speak to New York, though.

I'm just angry about a proposed law in that state destroying the Sacrament of Confession by forcing churches to remove the veils. This is disgusting and a gross, Chinese style violation of freedom of religion, entirely motivated by Marxist dogma. I will never knowingly buy any products from the state again.
