If you feel ignored by someone, repay with the same - ignoring that person.

I was making a point.

I was making a point.

And I was drinking a virtual shot.

Is your point that you can't compare your life to Fnord's? Then sure, you are right. Every one of us has their unique set of challenges and problems but also strengths and opportunities.

Point is he refuses absolutely refuses to acknowledge certain things and is stuck in his myopic world. It's not him though that I have issues with not as a person but his belief system and his overly-simplistic view of life. And, with his overly-simplistic view of life come overly-simplistic answers to everything. No complexity! No grey areas!

This is the major reason I and others balk at his advice.

But no one is giving any advice in this thread.

I'm sorry that some people find your style abrasive, being forthright is an aspie trait and one that I share. As far as I'm aware, you're not part of any gossip circles, which I respect.

No worries, people. I'm a survivor, not a victim.

Solidarity. I've often thought and said that adult autistics are survivors.

Yeah, I'm stuck in a world where I have a career, a wife, a family, a home that's paid for, a university degree, a few close friends, and lots of jealous enemies who really don't know me at all. Terrible, isn't it?

Simplicity leads to success. Complexity leads to failure. Ambiguity wastes time, resources, and effort.

There. Fixed it for you.

You're welcome!

No worries.
I just find it intellectually stimulating to try to understand both sides of a conflict and you seem to attract most interesting forms of conflict.

To whom are you referring? I've never been a cartoonist, and my primary instruments are piano and violin.

^^^sorry, i was guessing that you and him might think along the same lines even though you are not a cartoonist, larson was a scientist at heart. and piano and guitar make an excellent jazz combo. or violin.

Is that a way of saying "see you in the funny papers"?

Fnord,
There is much commonality between you and I. A career Civil Servant in a variety of capacities, and in the performance of my sworn duty have done things that are unimaginable to most ppl. When my journey is at its end those will have to be accounted for, but there is no shame or guilt in my heart. There were a number of occasions that called for a creative alternative to accomplish the assignment without collateral damage. The cost was additional time and unauthorized variation for which I was reprimanded for, but it allows me to sleep at night. Retirement requires patience and a significant attitude adjustment that for me has not been the smoothest of transitions, yet it is a good life. Fnord, you are a good man who still has much to offer this world.

I left home at 15 and clawed my way into and through a variety of situations, but the end result right now is owning my own business, a husband who loves me, and owning my home in the swamps and woods where I want to be. It wasn't easy, a lot of it was horrible. I'm not as smart as you, Fnord, but I am extremely stubborn.

I don't always agree with you, but I value your point of view and your ability to reduce confusing things to their essence. There are things you don't see and you are comfortable where you are. But there are things I don't see, things other people don't see. None of us knows or understands it all.

I don't understand why you have become a lightening rod for so many, but I see from some posts that has happened. These posts grieve me.

I'm not as good at explaining things as others. Mags has expressed my thoughts pretty well.

Sometimes I think that aspies from our generation had it easier because we didn't know we had a disability, we didn't get special treatment, it was pretty much sink or swim.
