Everybody is stressed this period and it’s really hard to control. I’m tired of stress so I made up my mind to use the pills [url=https[/url]

My mom likes the holidays. She once even told me she doesn't get stressed out, even when she gets up before dawn and makes several meals and desserts and then stores them in the freezer until the holidays arrive. Although that is a good idea.

The only thing that really seems to stress out my mom this time of year is the days getting dark so early, and she really hates having to drive at night.

I think everyone gets a little stressed at Christmas, as it feels more like a deadline than a holiday. These days Christmas has become so commercial and all the stores want to make money so they do everything they can to push Christmas in your face to the point where you feel guilty if you're not part of it (unless you have a religion where you've never celebrated it).

It's stressful for my boyfriend because a lot of his family have birthdays that are in December. Also I don't know what I'm doing on Christmas day this year and neither does our families. That stresses me out for some reason.

Please report spam if you can, rather than ignoring it. Thanks to the member who did report the spammer, (smiling at you Isabella) because early reporting saves a lot of time spent cleaning up a spam fiesta later on.

The WP discussion 'Holidays 2019' might be of interest. I've learned to view the holidays from frames of well...curbing stress e.g., I've learned to not let all of the over-commercialization of the holidays become an issue.

I didn't see the spam as I don't read every post in every thread. Also it doesn't always occur to me that it's spam but if it does then I will report it.

I don't.

No amount of social expectations tells me to be stressed out about Christmas. No amount of sensory commercials tells me to mark this holiday as stressful.
No holiday actually does.

From where I live, there are more holidays and Christmas is over 4 months long.
Many here takes holidays a bit seriously and some gets to prepare long ahead instead of running around at last minute.

Your WP image mentions SE Asia as your location. Where are you located?

I was impressed by the food/travel shows of the late Anthony Bourdain from Asia. Places like Asia, & Europe offer examples in partaking in holidays - which many of us here in the US wish we would glean even the tiniest examples of how the rest of the civilized-world views holidays.

Only days away from Christmas (as of this writing) - days away from where much of all of the holiday hype will be.....all said and done.

As we digest our Christmas Day, and night, how many of us feel lost, as much of the holiday is coming to an abrupt ending?

How does future-pacing help us handle the holidays?

I was stressing this year, becomimg a bit obsessive to be honest... going home, having extra relations and friends staying, but I've planned for as much of it as I can, the rest will be grand.

A conversation I had today grounded me super quick, talking to someone who lost a sibling a few months ago and has a terminally I'll child...

Yup, once I have loved ones and my health, the rest is trimming :D
Funny how we can loose sight of lessons already learned.

Yep, Amity.

I must acquire some perspective, too!

Your perspective is fine as it is, as is everyone elses.
It is stressful for people, be it solvable challenges or permanent changes, the impact of stress on the body and mind is real.
It was just a few moments I shared with a relative stranger but it brought the importance I was placing on the chosen christmas 'busy work' to my attention.

Christmas never stressed me out too much. I really liked Christmas as a kid cuz I got out of skewl & got presents. I never paid much attention to the other aspects thou. I never been into giving other people gifts, decorating or cooking or other aspects about Christmas. I'm also a loner & keep to myself a lot so other's stress doesn't bother me too much. The one exception was when I was working retail. The stores got really crowded around the holidays & management was on our backs more so things were much more chaotic. I was also working longer hours. I didn't have to work extra but I volunteered cuz I liked getting over-time pay, my parents were on my back about me not being independent enough & how I could do better, I was dealing with a bad depression & working at least made me feel like I was accomplishing something, & I'm loyal to a fault & wanted to help out my department. Working over 9 hours a day(not counting the hour lunch break) 6 days a week for a couple months when a store is busy can be pretty stressful. I mostly slept when I wasn't working then except when I was doing the essential stuff.

Perhaps it's just me, my upbringing and my personal reaction dealing with my own set/s of autistic conditions within social situations.
