something very unfair is going on
Oh man, you'd hate to hear my history of public school.
I've always been shy.
I did fine in Kindergarten, I had a wonderful teacher.
First grade the first time around wasn't great. We had to pull me out. Stupid teacher thought I was being abused. >_> I've always hated going places by myself, even public bathrooms. Yep, I couldn't hold it in class - wet chair.
First grade - second time. I had my kindergarten teacher that year, so I made it through that year.
Second Grade. My teacher was not nice to me. We ended up pulling me out and home schooling the rest of that year.
I believe I was home schooled for third grade but when i wanted to go back I went back into third grade. I had a good teacher that year and made it through too.
fourth grade. I had another mean teacher. I used to get into trouble for no reason with these kind.
We pulled me out untill my Freshman year.
Ninth Grade. What a fyasko! First I couldn't keep up with my Science class 'cause I hadn't learned this 'higher math' yet. We actually started looking into figuring out what was going on with me. For ONE Quarter I aced everything! I was getting help from my teachers, then they wouldn't give me anymore help. So I ended up flunking the rest of the year.
I was diagnosed with ADHD at this point.
One time during the whole thing I shut down in class because I was told to go to the library, but was told before I never had to enter it again, 'cause the librarians weren't nice to me. So the principle threatened to call the cops on me if I didn't leave the grounds immediately.
Tenth.
They wouldn't even let me go the whole day. I had to go 'half days' so I could adjust. Do you know how much that made me feel like an outcast? I have Fibermyalga and low muscle tone, I can't walk home every day in the middle of the day. I needed to take the bus. My 'advocate' didn't even try to help, but rather conform to the school's wishes.
And now I should be doing my correspondence school, but I've lost my books to the disorder of my home.
Thus, the tip of the iceberg that sinks 'disabled' ships.

i hate discrimination
the gov hardly do anything, and thy are unfair to us.
they should provide free home tutors for kids who can't cope with school or are very autistic.
and for kids who have to go to school, there should be what I call, a HFA (high functioning autism) school for kids who dont have any problem with learning but have social or behavioral problems.
I hate special and mainstream schools, so a school like that would help me
who thinks this is a good idea?

Man you are on the money with this one.
School was a nightmare for me, particularly in junior high and highschool.
In highschool I had to go to school in a small, maybe 12 student (at the verry most, usually about 8.) school on a larger highschool campus. These students I was stuck with had problems far exceeding mine and oftentimes drug habits, I'm not talking just weed either, some were ex-speed addicts and stuff too but it tended to stay along the lines of more upscale clientele drugs like that.
We got our own class security guard and everything.
THAT was my peer group during those times, all this because there wasn't a better place to put me and I "couldn't be trusted" in normal classes.
The teacher had to pay for alot of the many supplies needed for that class out of pocket because the teacher fund she got wasn't enough.
One time to get new desks we had to get to some of the old ones from other classes before they were thrown out cause other people were getting new desks.
Then you know what I see the next day? They're rechalking their freakin football field.
Now I understand schools are bad everywhere but in a generally upscale area like where I went there is No excuse for that kind of stuff to be going on.
Our school spent it's grant money on a 'team bus' rather than something productive (They could have made our summer pool an indoor one or something).
Around here if you're not athletic you're an outcast and not wanted. They even cancel classes when our team is out of town for a game.

I'm starting to think thats a trend everywhere to varrying extremes.
School admins are idiots as a general rule I think maybe.

What I think is one kid equals 'so much' money. They don't really care if you just sit there.. But if you start putting your rights in their faces, they get mad.
I could be wrong but, I think they are trying to get rid of anyone who has a disability - not just in the school system either. Nazis anyone?
