yeah, that's what we did, and london was great for that, so many things i hadn't eaten, like pastries yeah, and scotch eggs, and quiches were great too
and as a desert jellies and so, yummie

only the underground was rather expensive, not for my daughter, for her it was only 1pound a day, but for me it was often 3 or more, even if we did more than 7km on foot everyday.

but the museums we visited were gratos, that was great of course

Come up north next time. Britain is a great country to live in - well, the nice bits are anyway. I love lorne sausage, Tayto crisps, fish and chips, Sunday roast, Scotch eggs, Lancashire hotpot, real ale and all that stuff. :)

Yeah, Britain is OK! 8) Northern people are very friendly, and have a good sense of humour. Wales has beautiful mountains and valleys, (and great singers!) Scotland and the north east wonderful rugged countryside and beautiful coasts! (Think I'll have to get a job with the UK tourist board, lol.)

You must try bara brith, gorgeous Welsh bread made with mixed dried fruit and peel. But forget the lava bread, a traditional Welsh delicacy made from seaweed. It's flippin 'orrible.

No one mentioned Netto - perhaps the cheapest of them all (except for the plastic bags)

I like Lidl myself, though Home Bargains can be cheap for bits and bats.

I've not seen any Lidl or Netto stores around here. Our cheapest local food shop is probably Aldi.
