Considering that they need affection and tenderness as well as hugs ;
Considering that soft toys are fragile and defenseless and that many babies drool ;
Considering that they are too often underestimated and considered useless ;
Considering that they are sometimes victims of torture, mistreatment and acts of barbarism that revolt the conscience of children ;
Considering that, for a very long time, stuffed animals have never enjoyed any protection and have even been enslaved ;
Considering that soft toys are the best friends of little boys and little girls ;
Considering that soft toys are necessary for general well-being, nightmare-free sleep and the calm of the night (carpe noctem) - ideal that should be sought and achieved ;
The Teddybear Assembly proclaims this Universal Declaration of Human Rights and states the following fundamental and inalienable rights :Article I: - All stuffed animals are equal in dignity and right without any distinction - in particular of gender and inclinations, race or species, size and color, origin, nationality and provenance or any other situation; they have the right to equal access to hugs.
Article II: - Every plush toy has the right to the attention and affection of the person who has custody of it.
Article III: - Every plush toy has the right to recognition of its importance in the development of the child; each plush toy has the right to sleep with the person who has custody of it as much as it wishes (and in its bed), it has the right to a kiss in the evening so that its dreams are not blurred.
No plush toy can be subjected to cruel, degrading treatment or contrary to its dignity as a plush toy: no plush toy must be thrown in the trash or put in the closet.
Article IV: - Everyone has the right to the safety and security of his person; it cannot be martyred or mistreated. Any plush toy thus has the right to be defended by the person who has custody of it against attacks by dogs, cats and goldfish or other domestic animals.
Article V: - Every plush toy has the right to free access to care in case of accident (sewing, padding, etc.); a third eye must be made available to him if it is scratched.
Article VI: - A toll-free number - SOS Battered plush - will be set up to help and defend any plush victim of aggression by the person who has custody of it.
Article VII: - Every plush toy has the right to an affectionate nickname. Any ridiculous name - such as Medor or Snoopy - is strictly prohibited.
Article VIII:- Any plush toy has the right to leave its shelf at the merchant, in case of dizziness. It also has the right to air conditioning in its box.
Article IX: - Everyone has the right to the union snack break.
Article X: - Any plush dissatisfied with its living conditions has the right to cast a spell on the person who has custody of it. Every plush toy has the right to the attention and affection of the person who has custody of it.
