While that may be true for others, I derived my opinion from the time I spent as a 'psychic' in my cousin's storefront business. People would brag to me first-hand about the famous person they supposedly were in a previous life, with at least two people claiming to be the same famous persons many, many times.
I don't remember exactly how many President Lincolns and Pharoah Cleopatras I have met over the decades. Nobody, however, has ever claimed to have been a pauper or a slave.
Thomas Edison? Sure! Jimmie MacKenzie? Not a single claimant.
