No, but due to biology the costs of drinking harder stuff typically increases more quickly for women than for men. Drink sizes are designed for men, so typically the drinks do more damage and have more impact on women.
That's probably a huge part of why some drinks are "girl drinks" and others aren't.
So-called "girl drinks" tend to be just as strong as the drinks that aren't labelled that way.
That's a fair point, although I wonder if that didn't come later on asyou can put more alcohol in there without it tasting like battery acid.
I'm not sure the flavour of the drink does much to raise how much alcohol it can contain before there's a strong alcohol taste.
I find, whether it's a sweet mixed drink or beer, if it's over about 8% I can tell, compared to less than about 7%.
