while I love most all books, the classics are the best, like

Anna Karena--Tolstoy
Crime and Punishment--Dostoevsky

etc.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" and "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" series by Douglas Adams.

Every Star Wars novel.

Every Ann McCaffrey book, especially the "Dragonrider's Of Pern" series.

The "Dune Chronicles" by the Herberts.
