Why can men walk around topless but women can't?

In Queensland, Australia we have the world's highest skin cancer rates.

I don't think anyone should go around topless - they need their sunshirts, hats and sunscreen.

Tits generally turn men on. Men are big and oversexual.
No woman would be turned on and try to rape me if I were topless outside, although I'm not sure I would mind...

Just because you can do something, doesnt mean you should. Theres little worse than a hot spell, especially in the UK, to bring out hordes of pasty white torso, the greater part of it hideously bad for the eyes.

Thats not just men either.. by all means, women can go topless.. but many shouldnt, for the same reason many men shouldnt.

Some of use are trying to eat here Manboobs are not sexy because they cannot represent a mans ability to feed their young. Because men cannot preduce milk.

As I'm a complete pigeon-chest, I doubt if anyone would notice.

Technically, at least where I live, even full-bodied nudity, in itself, isn't actually illegal.

A person, male or female, can go topless or even naked in public, and get away without prosecution.

The law only takes action when people make complaints about such exposure.

I suppose, because of the stupid social inhibitions that some people have, it is more likely that a topless woman will attract more negative attention than a topless man; as demonstrated by the fuss often generated by an action as innocuous as breast-feeding.

I don't think there are many women out there that would go out topless if the law was repelled. Like someone else said I get more than enough attention in a bra covered up in a big shirt.

On the other hand I wonder if male toplessness might be banned in the next decade? Seriously a lot of the male population has manboobs now that rival what many women have.

Picture this - 23 yr old male, topless and in boxer shorts roaming barefoot outside in the snow. Skin is pasty white even against the snow, has long, black hair over entire chest & abdomen and entire back, D-cup manboobs sagging to waist with gut hanging out gaping fly of boxers. This is my next door neighbor.

This is why toplessness should be banned for males not just females.

I think clothing should be optional.
I mean, where I am, it's pretty cold most of the year, so you need clothes.
But if someone wants to run around stark naked, I think they should have the right to do.
Wouldn't that be kind of cool to be able to walk down main street completely naked and make that flapping sound with your balls that's so much fun?

YES!! That's a very good point - skin cancer is one of the most common cancers here in the UK too, but we don't hear much about it on the media. Cover up and sunscreen always, folks!!



Regarding the question of sexism - would the equivalent of a topless woman be a bottomless man?
