This probably sounds trivial but I'm really upset over this. His name is PurrSnicKitty. He is a seal point siamese and he's very personable. He always comes home when it rains, but he didn't yesterday though it rained most of the day. I'm worried and rather sad.
:( :(

It is indeed not trivial. Our car decided to take off two weeks ago. but luckily, last week we found him in the garden, hiding.

NB: sometimes cats wonder off, and by good fortunes they return.

Hope you find your kitty! I love cats, especially Siamese. This is not trivial. I'd be worried sick if anything happened to one of my cats, or to any of my pets.

I know that I would go mad without my kitty. Hope yours turns up soon. My cat gave me a scare today. I had just gotten up for the day, left her sleeping on my bed, and took my shower. When I came back to my bedroom, she was gone. I live in a small bungalow, so I sort of looked around for her while I dressed. She had completely disappeared! I called and called, and then started searching. She wasn't anywhere. Just when I was starting to think that she was magical, she popped out from underneath the blankets on the bed, where she'd been hiding. Whew! What a relief.

If you can...I would knock on the neighbor's door anyways. Sometimes cats can be extremely social little buggers even if they are anti-social with 75% of all the people they come in contact with... as with my neighbors cat who really doesn't live here...he just appears to live here.

My rotten cat is acting like a teenage kid lately, staying out all night, coming home just to eat and sleep, and making me worry and his brother cry. Yes, he is fixed.

Sometimes they just do that.

I hope your kitty comes home soon. I know that worry is an awful feeling.

I did manage to knock on 3 doors. everyone knew of my cat, but hadn't seem him real recently. My neighbors next to me said they had seen him the previous afternoon eating grass. I walked up and down the road looking in case he'd been hit by a car. I keep calling to him hoping he will come running. He is fixed. My other cat who is very antisocial has been cuddly the last day, she's knows I'm upset.

Not for nothing, but I heard recently that those chips can cause cancer in pets. Our German Shepard has a chip.

I understand that the chips are meant to help, but I really have a problem surgically implanting something into a living being that isn't really necessary. Of course, I'm from the country and have a no-nonsense approach to things.

That starts me thinking though...if we chip our pets, why aren't we chipping our children? See, I think that sounds really ridiculous.

My cat Polly went "missing" for about a week, and we eventually found her looking dusty and indignant in the cellar. Have you checked all your nooks and crannies to see if PurrSnicKitty is in one of those?

I hope you find him soon :(

Another thing is a cute friendly cat may be "adopted" by people when it shows up at their doorstep. I remember such a cat showed up at my sisters last house and she and the neighbors both bought it food and the neighbor decided it was theirs one day. So if he is never found there is a good chance he is still healthy and happy some where.

He is not chipped, I have a personal problem with putting computer chips in anything, I always rip and cut up those little computer chip tags on things that come home from the store. I have thought maybe someone "adopted" him. I am going to print a couple posters to put at the local store. I keep going outside and fruitlessly calling for him (knowingly)..

*sigh*

Because children can almost always talk, tell people who they 'belong' to. They can also carry cellphones, or walk up to people and tell them they're lost. Pets can't. I wouldn't personally microchip my pets, but if you're going to use the reasoning that you're not chipping your children so you shouldn't chip your pets, you may aswell apply the same reasoning toward not having your pets wear a collar with a tag.

Hmmm...point taken...for older children. However, this argument could not be used for young children (the ones more likely to get lost or taken) who may or may not be able to talk, but do not know mommy or daddy's real name, or their address, or their telephone number, and are certainly not going to be carrying a cell phone (which in itself, ironically, is a computer chip).

Surgically implanting a chip seems so invasive and unnecessary when a tag and collar will work just fine. Now if you want to put a computer chip in a collar, that I would go for! :D

I hope you find your kitty soon, PawAlmighty.
