If you want to try something like that out, go for Facebook instead.

Facebook isnt any better than Myspace, none of my favorite bands have Facebook profiles, and none of my friends do for that matter.
I know when Behemoth finally premieres their Promotherion video, I'll hear about it first on myspace.

Facebook and Bebo only let you browse profiles if you are registered yourself. I find that a turn-off. I also find Facebook's layout a bit difficult to use.

MySpace is free of charge, so my message to the topicstarter: what do you have to lose by signing up? If you don't like it you have lost 10 minutes of time, that's all. It won't cost you any money so it's worth trying, not?

It's entirely up to you. Personally, I feel MySpace is to dangerous due to hackers, spammers, scammers, perverts, etc.

Perverts are on any of those profile sites. MySpace IMO is easier in terms of interface but I must say that I although I am a member of several discussion groups there, I rarely post. I just see it as a nice online profile. If it would be paid I would not waste my money on it and not use any of those profile creator sites - but as it is free I don't see what's lost on having a profile. I don't sign in that often though so I probably often reply very late on PMs sent, I won't easily make friends on MySpace therefor: I simply don't use the discussion groups enough.

Yeah man Exhumed and Belphegor \m/
Personally I dont see a point in myspace, I have yet to find a friend I can even keep anyway, plus currently I dont have any so why should I bother making an account?

Where did you get that? :s Sounds very unlikely that a fact like that would be true and that yet so many people use his service.

The guy who made MySpace did become very rich over it.

I've been thinking, and I'm sick and tired of being the kid that no one knows. I've created a few phony profiles to look around, and I've discovered that there's a nice little Myspacian community among my school... I know a fair few people, like people I say hello to occasionally, and I was thinking maybe Myspace would be a good way to expand on that, they all have a profile. It goes against everything I stand for, joining such a BS website, but I'd really like to make some more friends. So, yeah, some opinions please! If you've had good or bad experiences with Myspace, I'd like to hear about them... please don't vote and not comment :)

Do you ubersite? I've seen this screen name before.

I don't see why not getting an account on myspace and facebook and every other site mentioned in this thread.
My friend runs like 5 websites for his bands and he doesn't even have a computer.
