For the most part, people here are very nice. It is better than some AS sites I've been to. The AS site on the Health Boards were generally very positive, but obsessive about discouraging off board contact. AspergerInfo was too negative for me. I had to leave before I got too depressed.

Thank you.

We try.

I think the difference is that people act like adults on WP and write coherently- unlike, for instance, the Craigslist Rants and Raves section (of any city that I've looked at)- check it out and the difference is obvious.
Also, we AS-ers tend to value logic and coherent thought; if we are posting in what refers to itself as a "community" it would seem that we believe it to be a community.

I agree. We aren't here to talk about AS, we're here BECAUSE of AS, and we can talk about anything we want, not just AS. Therefore we're a lot more relaxed around here.

Yes, it's empathy that brings us together.

This is the friendliest and safest site I've ever been.

Because this forum, unlike many others, has Aspergers Syndrome.

I've only joined this year, and I've already posted nearly 700 times.

I like going on here. Just don't go in the World of Constant War thread on the Off the Wall topic. I've been beaten and sorely bruised there.

Wait a minute - aren't we supposed to lack empathy?

Damn - we're doing it wrong again...

Exactly! :)

I couldn't agree more! I also feel that the other site are more Q and A. And, as previously noted, the people don't tend to get to know the other posters.

Yes, we're quite tolerant around here, and quite humorous too ! !

(With the exception of the aforementioned Religion, Politics, and Parents threads. Those all get some nasty name calling. I never post in those.)

Random Topics is prolly the best, as we all just have a jolly good time here ! !!
