I'm glad I don't go to school anymore, because I'd just hurt everyone.

Hey, if I could make it through high school, surely you can?

My grandmother was the first person (apart from members of the band) to hear the song 'Golden Brown', by the Stranglers, one of the members, (Dave Greenfield, I think) lived opposite her, and asked for her opinion on this new 'commercial' track. She liked it, and, therefore the Stranglers released it as a single.

I think that on my mother's side I'm descended from Vikings. And we're all descended from those famous first people in the world, whoever they were! :D :P

I'm related to Henry Knox, Revolutionary War officer, the first US Secretary of War and the person for whom Fort Knox is named. I'm also related to other Revoluntionary war verterans: another Scots-Irish colonist (aside of Knox), a family of Stewarts from Glasgow, and two French soldiers who served under Lafayette and fought along side Washington's troops.

I'm also related (although not directly) to an iconic American writer (deceased), but I'd prefer not to say who, because whenever I have posted this on the net, I have gotten a lot of crazy PMs and crap. I even had one person ask if I would give her a vial of my blood. Creepy.

My second cousin was the Offensive Coordinator for the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins teams of Don Shula in the '70s, including the undefeated '72 Dolphins. He then coached the Baltimore Colts for 1-1/2 years, but was fired. Later, he coached the University of Miami Hurricanes to their first National Championship in 1983. Then he was the head coach of the University of Louisville Cardinals for about ten years. Now he is the head coach of the Florida Atlantic University Owls in Boca Raton, FL. He played under Paul 'Bear' Bryant at the University of Kentucky and was an assistant for him at the University of Alabama, where he was Joe Namath's coach. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins, but his NFL career as a player was short-lived.

My great uncle was the head coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and later an assistant coach in the NFL for a very long time, including for the Houston Oilers, Washington Redskins, and New York Jets. He was the defensive line coach for Gastineau, Lyons, Klecko, et al in the '80s. He was even featured in a United Way commercial the New York Jets did for the NFL.

My dad's cousin was a famous singer in Puerto Rico, but I don't recall his name. I'll update after I ask my dad.

My great grandfather owned a printing press in an area where their was not one before and as a result the city named a building after him.

My father, tho not famous and also along with many others, helped fix the problem at 3 mile island in 1979. Thats why im messed up

The real question is...famous for what?

I've had some long past relations that definitely made the papers...just not for any scientific discoveries or community service work.

My mother is a descendant of Michael William Shanahan and I am related to the d'gal class of ancient Irish kings. They were subjugated in 1318 by the O'Brien's.

I'm related to some famous dead people: an author, a musician, and some people from the Revolutionary War. There are also some US presidents who are my distant cousins, but I only know about that because my family did a geneology going back to the 1400s!

I also have ancestors who came to the US on the Mayflower, which supposedly matters to some people (not me). And some of my ancestors were instigators of the Salem Witch Trials. No, I'm not proud of it.
