Eire, did you get in trouble about the pop? Was there a panic; did it sounds like a gunshot? :D The whole store; a department store; that's pretty loud!

No I didn't get in trouble, everyone just looked at me and saw what had happened. It did sound like a gunshot though.

you're very lucky. people have lost toes after getting their laces caught in an escalator.

Yeah I know, Another member of my family had to tell a kid not to try and get it out for me... I'd rather get my toes ripped off than him having his hands cut off... after all, if you lose your feet you can still do things: like write, play video games, type... and those sorts of things... although you'd need a wheelchair to get around...

Yeah, I've heard scary stories of escalator accidents. I'm always aware of it when I'm on an escalator.

I haven't been around escalators much so they make me uneasy. I read horror stories like people getting pulled under because their shoes got stuck and being turned into mincemeat, but that's probably just some urban myth.

Today, my mother and I are taking a trip to where there will be places with escalators. Now I'm worried. 8O

I have an intense fear of escalators. I've been working on it, but it's just come back. 8O

I had a similar thing happen to me once with a goat, I was at this farm, and I was in the goat pen feeding the goats lettuce. So then one of these goats decides to bite down on my finger, instead of the lettuce. Man, that hurt like s**t.... Funnily enough, it was the same goat that, when I was younger, tried to eat my hair and got goat spit all over it. I think that I have a phobia of goats now >_>

I went to a multi-level mall on my trip and used the escalators. I came back with all my toes still attached. :D

They're probably safer than elevators, anyway.
