It is almost as if that little creature were imbued with the spirit of a homicidal maniac! 8O

Good fortune,

- Icarus had the very same thought...

Oh, wonderful. :D Do you have any photographs to show? I'd love to see them. :)

I do have some photographs, although they're not very good - they were taken inside the vivaria when we were about to clean them out, which is why the lighting is bad and their surroundings look a bit grim. They don't live like this normally.

This is Zak, who we got as a baby - she looked very much like Johnny!

And this is Murdoch:

Murdoch is over seven feet long. He was originally owned by a man who had more snakes than he could cope with, and when we got him he was terribly dehydrated and had a burn on his side from wrapping himself round the naked light in his vivarium to try and keep warm. Being so dehydrated damaged his digestive system so that (without going into too much detail) I have to take him to the vet for a steroid enema every month, but he's a lovely creature - very very tame, and when we handle him, he doesn't try to get away and investigate his surroundings, but snuggles in and raises his head to have his chin stroked!

They are both beautiful. :) It is shame that Murdoch has such a sad history; he sounds lovely. Poor Murdoch. :(

Personally, I like cobras, especially an Indian cobra :D You know, I checked one moment ago that Aridarr is a female but having read a thread about someone's "snake and its photos" my first thought was that some lewd guy decided to show photos of his... guess what?   I'm still giggling over my dirty association

Thank you! :D We think so, but a lot of people don't agree, sadly - I'm glad you like them. I think Johnny's going to be very happy with you - the fact that he ate so readily shows how settled he is!

Good fortune,

Corn snakes are constrictors, and they grow to around 3-5 feet in length (I read somewhere they can be 6 feet), although they are always quite skinny. I'm not sure exactly how old he is right now but he is around a foot in length; and he is clearly very young.

I'm still learning about these snakes, and one thing I have just discovered is that they vary quite considerably in colouration. Snow corns can be anything, in adulthood, from pure white to pink-white with green blotches. And from what I hear, it is impossible to ascertain what colour they will be in adulthood from looking at their patterns as hatchlings. It will be interesting to watch his colours change as he sheds. I'm hoping he turns out pink or yellow. :D

I've always been facinated in Egyptian cobras, even though they're dangerous
Ever since we did Egyptians at Primary school, I've wanted to own one.
