I think I've started a topic that could incite religious hatred.

I dont like Christmas because I dont have any living family and I have no children of my own. Same reason why I no longer like Thanksgiving.

I keep meaning to arrange to voulenteer but on Thanksgiving day there werent any opportunities as the voulenters went the sunday before. Everybody tells me theyre full on Christmas.

I will voulnteer regularly( my new antidepressants just started working) after new years. It occurs to me I could just go down to the shelter as a recipient. No family , no job . . . . I really only want to help others on this specfic day to forget my own loss.

I just hate having to spend time I could use to get to grips with my presents and meditate on the nature of the holiday with relatives I don't get along with. Oh, and spending my money on presents.
