Sam Neill and Russel Crowe are technically speaking New Zealanders, but I'd make an exception for Neill. Crowe, well, he's on probation.

George Miller!
is directing another 'Mad Max' movie! aka 'The Road Warrior'
Most recently directed 'Happy Feet', a favourite of mine.
Although i'm not trying to turn this into the 'name a famous Australian' thread.

Funnily enough, I can't watch American shows on TV.... I'm ok with movies but I can't handle the US versions of sitcoms and drama.

eg: In Law and Order, why does the programme have to go ba-boooommmm every few minutes. Do they think that it makes it more exciting on something?

Now British Humour.... that's funny.

It certainly is. Unfortunately, our comedy isn't so good atm with the exception of the Chasers War on Everything.

I agree. It's a sad fact of life when our most popular comedies are Kath and Kim and The Chaser.

The Lucky Country!! We have an excellent standard of living and stability .... and really don't appreciate what we have!

Beautiful beaches, mountains (although small by other nations' standards, rainforests.)

Breathtaking outback.

Nasal twang!

I have to say .... I loooooove Kath and Kim!

On the downside: poor standard of living/health of our indigenous population.

coolest animals, beautiful scenery, lots of big things eg Big Pineapple etc. lots of great sport ( i live in Melbourne which is cool), various events to check out. Multiculturalism a big part of the country to, eg
u can move here from overseas and still support your native countries sporting teams.

as for comedies, i think Chaser can be quite funny sometimes, Stand Up Australia is pretty good(need foxtel to watch SUA).
anyway to any folk reading this that want to come over, come over!

I'm not sure if that goes for New Zealanders - they're a bit too competitive. :)

One thing that comes to mind from reading the other forums is that Australia is fairly safe and fairly supportive of Aspergers/Autism compared to a lot of other countries.
