Various English real ales, Timothy Taylor and Theakstons being among them.

I also like Guinness Foreign Extra. Very strong and totally delicious.

Most beer is pretty gross, especially the mass produced crap you can get anywhere. Though I have to agree with UncleBeer about the Hoegaarden. That stuff is pretty decent. Most of the Unibroue beers from Quebec are good. I also like a number of Belgian weirdass beers that I forget the names of.

Though generally I prefer top shelf liquors, wine, and unusual local favorites like Becherovka.

My favorite beers change and rotate with time. My most recent favorite is Pisner Urquell. Others have been Warsteiner, Becks Dark, Bass Pale Ale, Molson's. I drink Michelob a lot, too.

Guinness draught is my default beer; I strongly prefer ales over lagers, and particulalry like stouts and bitters. I also have a fondness for unfiltered stuff. Tripple-fermented beers like Maudite or La Fin Du Mond are special for special occasions.

Good fortune,

- Icarus's favorite beer is scotch...
