Josef Mengele listened to Beethoven after experiments to relax. Creep.
Ironically, the cruel tendencies in Nazis did not rule out more humane qualities in them. Both Hitler and Himmler were vegetarians and kind to animals. Hitler even offered gold watches to any officers who could give up smoking.
I think a line from the graphic novel
V for Vendetta sums it up. In that comic (instead of the movie), Prothero is a collector of dolls, and V has not only kidnapped Prothero, but also his dolls. When Prothero goes ape-shit over his dolls having been possibly damaged, V remarks "Dashed odd, isn't it? You show so much concern for plastic and porcelain, but so little for flesh and blood." Prothero doesn't die in the graphic novel, instead being driven insane when he watches his doll collection being destroyed in Auschwitz style ovens.
