My dad and I would play catch with my bears...
My parents both left everything to me (I really don't care though).
My mother helped me with French homework for years and we played contest games sometimes with my bears divided into two teams to make it fun...
My mother got me lots of presents every Christmas and for my birthday. She never just gave me one present saying it was for Christmas AND my birthday (because my birthday is on January 2). I never got jsut 1 or 2 or 3. I usually got more than 4 or 5 as well, usually about 7 to 10 just from her.
My mother wanted to get me anything I really wanted, like Uru: Online Ages Beyond Myst when I was 15. Once we were walking around town and stopped at a used CD shop and we were looking at CDs, and my mother got a bunch of CDs and we saw a Spice Girls CD and I was really into the Spice Girls then and she said "And of course I have to get you the Spice Girls one!"
I admit that my parents were better than a lot of other parents in some ways and did some things most parents wouldn't have done. Well, maybe not. A lot of parents probably would if they could, but most of the world's population lives in tents or mud huts or in the jungle. But whatver. Here are some nice memories.
My mother let me have my best friend over a lot in grade 6 and she often stayed for dinner and slept over.
My mother got mad at the school for suggesting maybe I needed some nerve pills. She ranted about it for a while and told one of my relatives over the phone, "If it was up to them they'd have Kate doped up to the eyeballs. You have to fight for your children!"
She knew I was into science when I was 8 and got me a microscope and a chemistry set for Christmas and suggested I could set up a little laboratory!
My mother took me to the playground a lot when I was a little kid, sometimes at night.
Both my parents said I could talk to them about my problems (though this just wasn't true, sometimes they'd be too busy or "have too much on their minds").
My mother played board games with me like Monopoly, Chutes & Ladders, Bingo, Trivia Persuit, and my favorite, Gambler.
My dad made the best potato salad.
My dad randomly came home with a brand new Monopoly game for me once.
My dad could always tell my two favorite bears apart. He knew which one was Charity and which one was Lars and didn't call Lars Charity or call Charity Lars.
When we were moving and most of our stuff was to go in his storage locker he asked me what was in these bags in my room and I said "A bag of this, a bag of bears. a bag of that--" and he said "grab the bag of bears and let's go to the other apartment."
My dad randomly gave me $20 sometimes to go to the mall or somewhere.
My parents gave me lunch money.
I ate most of my dad's smoked cheese once and he wasn't annoyed or mad. My parents would also usually get milk and nott really mind if I drank most or all of it, or get me milk and my dad joked about how fast I could drink all the milk in a new jug they just got.
