I like "Terrans" quite a lot, but "humans" suits me just fine as well.

Since the Turkish term for human is 'insan', I guess 'insanians' is okay.

I've heard Terrans, Earthers, Humans, Solarians (sounds like a room..;) Yumans (Ferengi -which is 'foreigner' in an Indian language...;), and...from some German sci-fi series.... Tellurians...(?) Also 'monkey boy' (Buckaroo Banzai..;)

As for humans, we are primates. How about 'earth-dwelling bipedal primates' to differentiate us from the other earth dwellers?

The supposedly dominant residents of the planet of the shaved apes.

In Classical Greece we were once defined as "featherless bipeds".

How many other creatures take the time to discover the rules of Chemistry and Physics? As well as apply them? "Supposedly" doesn't apply.

I never knew that, that's really cool. Makes sense because birds and people walk on two legs.

Yes, Narnia in response to iamnotaparakeet. It just made me feel strange when humans were referred to that in the book and movie. We are a strange race of creatures who can actually think, talk, build, communicate, incorporate, ingrain, and have the power to change our thoughts and ideas, not to mention the ability to evolve in many different ways such as our cultures whether they be good or bad. It still makes me wonder if we're the only species of the galaxy in that department. :?

As for primates, I really don't want to think of myself as a shaved monkey. Then again I do shave for mankind's sake. Well, also for aesthetic and hygiene purposes if we want to get serious.
