My spelling is fine, thanks.

I do get thoroughly annoyed by all the horrible spelling here, but it's the same all over the internet. This place isn't special.
Agreed

I find this website is slightly better then some sites like photobucket and myspace 8O

You know what's great, I have a word dictionary on this computer that I can automatically click to check if my spelling's right. I use to be real good at spelling but now I've been getting rusty lately.

Im very bad at spelling and I dont know enough about computers to get one with a spell checker. However I do believe in equality and think that everyone has a right to post no matter their IQ, disabilities and english skills.

Anyway...I honestly don't really care whether people spell things correctly or not. If they want to look like a toddler typing on the computer then it's their problem, not mine!

Free spellchecker, or Firefox. Firefox has a spellchecker built in and is generally safer than IE anyhow, if that's what you're using.

I thought that poor spelling can be an indication of an autistic spectrum disorder, much like poor handwriting. If I'm stressed I can't spell for sh*t, although sometimes I misspell words consistently.

I just read what I wrote and no misspellings or grammatical errors. Guess I'm pretty relaxed right now.

For those of us that have lived in native-English speaking nations for our entire lives, you have no excuse for not spelling properly. (The only one I can think of is if you're typing too fast to really see your mistakes.) Also, for those of you who just aren't good at spelling, ever hear of a little thing called spell check on MS Word?

I have perfect spelling - when writing in longhand. I 'usually' spell correctly, but every now and then I'll get a typo. I work for a newspaper, so it's of utmost importance to avoid errors in spelling, so that's when I use a spellchecker. This is a bulletin-board forum, so spelling isn't as vitally important here. The posts here aren't being preserved for posterity or anything, so why bother spellchecking your post in Word? If it was that important, why isn't a spellchecker included in the posting-window screen? Now I don't like seeing misspelled words, either, but I usually confine that sort of criticism to places where it matters - like on a resume/job application, in a published book/magazine/newspaper or on signs. Anything that is intended to be permanent should contain correct spelling, unless it's deliberately misspelled to draw attention, e.g., Krazy Klown's Kookie Kastle.

Spelling words the same has only been the case the last oh 200-300 years has been this um exact ? Look at some of the so called masters of writing back in say 1790 lots of diffrent spellings. A long comes the printing press and more schooling here we are today 2008.

I think it's the way a lot of kids are being raised, the schools, friends or something. I think a lot of kids and young adults just think it's cool to spell weird.

Imagine it being cool to actually learn?

It's I before E except after C

there's no apostrophe on the S with every word that ends with an S. An apostrophe is used to denote possessive or to replace a dropped letter in a word. For example:

The farmer's truck. CORRECT
The chicken laid some egg's. WRONG
Here come the high wind's. WRONG
The slope won't be open today. CORRECT

I'm sorry I couldn't help myself :D . But, in case you haven't noticed A LOT of people here don't make spelling errors (well rarely anyway), or just choose to abbreviate.
