I've noticed that sometimes too, mostly when I reply to a topic thats a what do you like topic, then you answer the question, then someone else answers the question. I guess if it isn't an actual discussion(like a debate) about something, a person will only say whats on their mind without replying to the other posts unless another post agrees with their opinion.

But it may seem that they may not listen, but I'm pretty sure people read all the posts on the topic before they respond to see what other peoples opinion are before they respond themselves. they may not respond to your post in particular but that doesn't mean they didn't acknowledge what you had to say.

you could I.M. a person your talking to about the subject you're talking about in the thread so that if you talk individually it will be less likely to go off topic.

Hi time

Please dont take things so personally. People come to forums for different reasons. For example, I may come hear to gather info and learn more about AS and aspies. That is my focus. That means I amy see your post and not respond because there is another 1000 post per day and I cannot respond to all of them. It does NOT mean I have anything against time.

I guess in these forums we look like people who are selling their goods in the market. The better they arrange and decorate theri stuff the more chances that customers will stop and buy. If they dont buy doemthing from you that doesnt mean they dont like you ( they dont even know your name ). In such a case , think about it, choose a better spot in the market , re-arrange your goods, write an atractive banner and study life as it passes by. Take notes if you will and let those notes help you improve your strategies. But those notes should realistic and objective, not self-centred.

Like darkstone100, I am not much of an advice giver ( I came to the forum looking for advice LOL )... However, we are all here to learn from each other.

Best of luck.

Hiya Time

I'm new here but I can talk to you!

I guess forums can seem a bit daunting, when I'm new at a place (like here) I have to get used to the different layouts, people, and general atmosphere of a place. Yeah, on first inspection these forums seem a dime a dozen, but once you spend a bit of time around individual forums, you soon see they all have a very different tone.

It takes time for you to learn the forum, and for the people of that forum to learn you (much like real life) we don't tend to have extensive conversations with people less well-known to us, not because we dislike them, but simply because we don't know them- yet.

The more you post, the more everyone here will get to know you and speak to you, and before you know it you come on in the morning to chat with people online because they've remembered things about you, like your birthday, or what you were going out to do in town that day, whatever it may be!

Take care :)

Time, it sounds like you would be more satisfied with a chat room.

I'm very slow at chatrooms. I have to think before I type. It's the same with real life, I have to think before I speak.

Me too. In real life, it seems that I'm always a little slower than normal, to put my thoughts into word form. If real life had a slightly slower conversation speed, I would be much more at ease. That's most of the reason that I fear speaking. :(
