Is holding the Olympics in London putting Britain in danger?

We in Britain have managed to piss off a lot of terrorist types with our continued military presence in sandy areas of the world... the Olympics might as well paint a big Jihad-target on itself. Although I think security will be uber-tight, so it's kinda okay.

...Still a waste of money that could have been spent on things this country actually needs, though!

I thouhgt London was one of the cities with the most surveillance cameras and other security measures. Shouldn't be ideal for such an event?
