That struck me too. I've only been here a month but it was strange reading posts of other new-comers. I could almost have written many of those posts myself. Each time I read there is a feeling of "Oh, you too". Lots of things have now dropped into place.

I can't really say I've made any friends as such yet, but seem to get along well with a handful of others in the off-the-wall forum.

Turning the topic around I like to try to inject a little humour here and there into some postings as they can be a bit too dry and serious. At age 47 I don't take myself all that seriously any more - nothing to prove to anyone, so enjoy a joke.

Long live WP.

WP has provided me with a place, where I can really be myself. :)

It's taught me a lot more about AS and other various disorders.

I've said it once on another thread, but WP is a place where I don't have to pretend. It's okay to be me.

It's a place where I can use my bizarre humour without being hastily removed from the room by men in white coats. I can be myself here, which is great. I haven't made any close friends yet but there's still time. I don't have an expiry date any time soon.

I relate to what other people have mentioned above. Before I realized that I probably have AS I thought I might have so many different things; bipolar, seasonal affective disorder, avoidant personality disorder, and many other things that barely brushed on my symptoms but never seemed to come close to covering them all. But then I came here and not only did I realzie that the way I was feeling wasn't just me, but that I could be proud of who am I and possibly what causes my difference.

This site was a relief, but it's continued to stay a support for me. ^^

To admit, I think I am still considered new here, but It does show me, that aspies are definitely not with the normal socalness, and I love that.

It's a place where I see tolerance and sincere helpfulness amongst members. I have learned alot about Autism and the people on here are great. Although we all have something in common, we are all different.

It also gives me a place to be hyper without being afraid of the reactions :D
