Yes, I do believe. But only because I have had so many supernatural experiences, that I ought to write a book.

If someone were to tell me that a red truck only dented the back of their black car (which can be done), would it be friendly or respectful to say something like "I don't believe that at all, it's obsurd. It's as true as a flying cow!!"? Uhm, no! Some of what I keep seeing in threads like this isn't any different.

"No I don't believe" or "I need proof" are completly different, and those don't insult people.

ehem, anyway. Now that I have calmed down. I personaly believe it's pausable for these things to come together by one means or another. And yes I believe in ghosts, and the after life. I havn't seen anything visual. Then there was incident I mentioned before. Dog went nuts and barked at the window. I took her outside to see what was wrong. Nothing.

Went back inside angry that the dog acted like there was an intruder for no reason....yeah... Suddenly I got a nice surprise. I literaly felt two 'human' hands curiously feel the side of my body that was facing upward. I turned over and saw.... nothing. Just the dog streching on the floor and yawning.  Kind of ordinary in my world. I wish you have a video of your story. That would be fun.

I do not believe in ghosts, but I acknowledge the possibility that they could exist. I think that ghosts are entertaining to think about. It's fun to try to come up with different explanations for alleged hauntings, ghostly and un-ghostly. If ghosts do not exist, why do people experience these things? If ghosts do exist, what are they exactly?

Here's a ghost story with a different perspective.

I used to live in my (deceased) grandparents' old house along with a bunch of other people. Over time, I lived with a total of about 20 non-relatives and 10 relatives in that house, after my grandparents' deaths. All of the non-relatives confessed to me privately that they were really creeped out by the house and had had scary experiences indicating that it was haunted. Some moved out because of this. All of the relatives reported a peaceful feeling in the house, like my grandparents were watching over everyone. Maybe they were trying to keep family members around and get rid of the outsiders!

Nothing important (or even that insulting), just a short sentence saying that we're impressionable for believing in ghosts.

Indeed, it was just some pointless vituperation from Moshi, who I was in the process of banning.

As to ghosts, my answer is "No", although I've had many "paranormal" experiences. My attitude is that they all are explainable, just not explained yet (other than coincidence, optical illusion, mental illusion and so on). However, a true story you may like...

A Cornish Event

A friend of mine used to be a bar manager in a rather(!) old pub - The St Kew Inn. Having just read their history pages, I realise this all happened in 1989, shortly after the death of Harry, the publican.

Anyway, I was in the Golden Lion, Port Isaac (my local), when he came in, pretty much at his usual time (just before lock-in), but rather shaken. Eventually he told me what had happened.

He had just about finished his shift, when a barrel ran out, so he went to the cellar to change it. Part way through this, he found himself feeling a "presence" in the room behind him, and he was utterly terrified.

He eventually steeled himself and turned round to face the threat, and at that moment realised that it was Harry. His fear totally vanished. Harry was OK. However, he then realised he had seen absolutely nothing. A ghost story - but without a ghost.

No one knows what's in the other realgms, or if they even exist FOR SURE.

Until there is definate proof to say that there is or isn't life after death, I am neutral...but still wondering.

I can't possibly say one way or the other... but my house is supposed to be the most haunted house in our village (because three men from the same family hung themselves in the old barn).

Also, an online acquaintance of mine has looked what appeared to be a ghost right in the face, divided from it by only the width of a bookcase.

I don't believe in ghosts, although there was this one time where my door creaked open for no reason.

This phrase always cracks me up. :lmao: (No offense intended, BTW)

For myself, I didn't choose to "believe" in anything. But when you've had a ghostly encounter, you've had a ghostly encounter. If anything else, I was left with a sense of wonder about worlds within worlds.

There is a place in oklahoma countryside called 'dead woman's crossing.' It is an actual murder scene from the early 1900's. A woman by the name of Katie James was fleeing from her abusive husband. She had just given birth a short time before she and the baby were leaving. She trusted the wrong nanny and was found shot to death in the creek under a bridge sans head. THe head was found a few days later farther down the creek and identified by the girl's father. Even today, you can archive the newspaper stories about the murder in the local library. just look up 'dead woman's crossing...oklahoma on the internet and something will probably pop up.

As a teen, i went out there a few times. You drive over the bridge and then back over to park just ahead of it. A few of my friends went out onto the little bridge to look off into the distance. There was a faint, bluish green glow to the dry creekbed after looking for a few minutes. I thought it was a utility light from a farm, but i couldnt for the life of me find the source. I heard crunching leaves, so i started back to the car. Then... a loud gunshot. We got out of there. It could have been a farmer shooting coyotes or a shotshell mechanism to keep predators away, either way the timing was impeccable. Ghost or no ghost... it s still shocking to hear shots out in the country in the middle of the night.

I have sensed ghosts before.... or at least felt uneasy in places i have been later told were haunted. Never seen anything but blue mist.

I wish my parents would tell me more stories about the house I was born in, but they don't want to talk about it or something =/ All I've gotten out of them is that sometimes they would find blood in the sink for no reason o_O
