I wouldn't get to serious about anybody unless you live near them. Online friends are good.

Meeting someone in person from meeting them online is a bit weird because you develop a image of what they are like, and when you meet them they are totally different to how you imagine them. :?
Thats very true and a good point, something to remember when meeting someone.

- Still, I would go, well, anywhere. Probably wont happen but theres not much holding me back, just my own habbits I guess.

I travelled across the Atlantic last year to see an online friend and go to the WizardWorld comics convention in Chicago, and I'm going to San Diego this year, too. Big thing for me, since I've never really been one for travelling anywhere by myself (unlike my sister, who's backpacked across Vietnam, Cambodia and India, and spent spent a year in Australia)...

no limit on distance, just money and transportation would be the limiting factors

I've always wanted to walk since I do it anyway b/c of stinkn' a** car!!

lol... it's funny as soon as I read "i would walk 500 miles" I instantly thought of that song. As to distance it doesn't really matter, i'd travel anywhere if it ment meeting the right person.

I'd bike for 200 miles or 15 hours...which ever comes first...

I (and my husband) had dinner with a gentleman from another forum, 7,000-odd miles from where we live. But, we didn't travel there specifically to meet him - we were going there anyway and he happens to live a few miles down the road.

Does anyone else really worry how they're going to come across in person? I was terrified! (He was very nice to us both, but I couldn't help wondering if I'd made any faux pas...but then I always do that in any social situation!).

I will go as far as North America, which is where most of my online friends and boyfriend live.

Well, the last 4 years I lived in 5 different countries and travelled to a few more, and I may move to yet another country soon. Basically travelling is what I love most of all in life, it's my fuel in life. So distances to me are no issues at all. Given the money is there, I don't mind travelling around the world for the right reason. On the contrary, I always sort of dreamt my future girlfriend would be from a far away mysterious location rather than from the town next door, just bring it on and I'll book my tickets :)

For the right person, I don't think I could set a maximum. For me, cash would be a limiting factor. :chin:

Also, I don't think I can leave the U.S., due to the fact that I am a fellon. :?

I am willing to travel anywhere, no limitations, if the experience could be a very good one.

So far, I've met two WP members who were both within 100 miles of me (Raylynn and LiendaBalla).

I changed mine to 1000 miles now.

If I won that record.....nevermind.

The maximum anyone can travel is 12,500 miles, so that's what I'm going with.

Yeah, I can understand. I don't know how to swim, and a place 12,500 miles away from me could be somewhere that is in political turmoil.

Nowhere that involves flying, as I refuse to get on a plane - end of.

Apart from that, cost would be a factor. Basically anywhere that I could do in a day trip, or maybe a weekend if it was someone I really really wanted to meet, & I could stay in a hotel (I hate staying in other people's houses).

Anywhere that doesn't involve flying, but I'll have to fly nonetheless
to meet a WP member.
