My aunt's store in Tijuana sells raw cacao beans.
I like to roast them myself and grind them in the
coffee grinder. I add the brittle, dark and bitter
product to my grits. I even added some to warm
condensed milk, stirring it like crazy for half an hour
in the microwave with some thick cream and sugar
until it was the consistency of Hershey's chocolate
syrup. Then I dunked my cookies in it. Mmmmm....

Mexican hot chocolate is the best there is.

There's a Belgian chocolate shop near where I live that sells proper creamy Belgian hot chocolate, it's fantastic stuff. :D You can also see through into the the factory/kitchen area (I don't think it's big enough to be called a factory :P ) and see the wife making all the chocolates. I'm sure you can imagine how good the place smells. it's unreal!

One better - they do a dairy-free version too, since their daughter was diagnosed lactose intolerant! It's not as creamy as the proper one, though...

potato chips - eh, I can leave 'em
donuts - I don't need 'em
hard candy in a pile,
I find rather vile
but chocolate, my true love
its you I crave, far above...

Ever have iced chocolate (like hot chocolate, just cold?). It is food for the soul. Hersheys is one of my big favourites, but if I can get my hands on chocolate from a real live chocolatier, working in the genre of Belgian, that is a treat above all else!

and TIM TEX!! , Way back, in another life, my exhusband bought me a chocolate bunny at easter that was 3.5 feet tall! That was some serious chocolate bunny action...

Edited to add - I was thinking Tim when I mentioned the bunny, but I wrote Jerry. My bad.

Dark chocolate . Where would we be without thee?

Although there is nothing better than hot cocoa after shoveling snow. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a dirty liar.

European chocolate is better than the domestic stuff. I like Perugina Dark (Orange Wrapper) and Perugina Dark semi sweet (Grey wrapper). Dark Toblerone is good as well. The only Milk Chocolate that I like is Terry's Chocolate Orange, which is flavored with orange.
