The only Olympics I find interesting is the Special Olympics.

Yeah pervy sports are good.

You do realise that the original olympics were done naked?

I wonder if future olymipics will some day be done naked again. :chin:

Let's write them a letter!

Hi Bogan man! Long time no see! :D

I sometimes like sports, but the Olympics bore me. I'd rather watch NFL preseason games than any of the Olympic events.

I'm not interested in sports. I'm kind of rebelling against my dad, who's a football fan.

The Olympics fall into the category of "sports," and I therefore ignore them, but I do LOVE to look at the pictures of the opening ceremony. Those commies sure know how to put on a pageant!

The only Olympics-related thing I have a more than passive interest in is story of the 1936 games. Leni Riefenstahl, a very talented but very N-A-Z-I-you-ain't-got-no-alibi documentary director, made an awesome movie about them. Plus, I enjoy the irony of the black athlete becoming the star of the Nazi Olympics! :)

I've never really been able to comprehend sports of any kind. Most sports are too uncivilized and repetitive in nature for me to actually enjoy them. Not only this, but nothing unique EVER happens. To me it's like watching a TV episode over and over again.

"Let's watch a ball go into a net over and over again and expect nothing unique to happen at all!! ! Yay!! !" :P

The only sports I don't mind are a few extreme (non-competitive) sports like skateboarding. For a traditional sport, I don't mind soccer. Soccer just seems a lot more civilized than most other sports. It actually appeals to intellectual beings unlike 95% of other sports.

One more 'sport' (if you can consider it as being one) I enjoy is billiards. I love to get drunk, light up a cigar and play billiards. You've gotta play it mafia-style.

Yawn.. *nodding off after reading the word olympic*
incredibly boring, its just so pointless to me. Wo-ho, i ran real
fast or jumped over something or something and got a medal.
So what. And for every guy that wins, theres probably someone
much better out there, but they`re not competing in the olympics so...
Its just a big pile of nothing really. We have this crazy instinct to
compete in pretty much everything we do, no matter what. If we dont
have something to compete about, we make something, no matter how
useless it is. Humans..... *sigh*

That guy ran the lap in 9.04
but the other guy ran it in 8.56
so what.. I REALLY DONT CARE AT ALL, brings tears to my eyes

And the drug-thing...does anyone think that no one in the olympics
are using anything? yeah right. Every fifth day or so i see in the papers
someone getting busted for using something that gives them an edge.
Heres my proposal: Allow everything! No rules when it comes to olympics
and drugs. Let the morons take whatever they feel gives them that little extra,
then it would get interessting :) then i might actually watch it, because there
would be alot of freaks running around. Pretty much like it is now, but more open.
Just look at baseball, alot of steroids there, some of the guys look like a small
horse or something, and have the temper that follows with those things.

Its incredible that some think we can actually get the olympics clean of drugs
no way man, theres people competing and people will do whatever it takes to win.
Its that instinct.

I guess that I'm only one who interested in them then because there is the Olympic spirit which is embodies everyone to do their best though some will get medals while others won't . Just being able to compete in the Olympics is something worth your hard work and dedication to get there. It is where nothing political matters and everyone in the world is there to compete and gain experiences and new friendships among other nations of the world.

JerryHatake has a nice way of looking at it.
The thing that stops me from being able to look at
it like that is the money, corruption and drugs involved.
It can look nice on the top but it gets pretty dirty fast when
digging a little. But i do like the idea of what Jerry says,
the nations comming together in piece and doing some friendly
competing. And i can understand it can be a big thing for
someone who has worked and trained hard with the goal to be great
in the olympics. But i feel like it would be a bigger deal if the olympics
was clean and fair. The way it is now, you can train hard for 5 years
and then get beaten by a guy using steroids. And that takes a little
something out of it, its not fair and even so hard to tell whos good and not.
I get a feeling that the olympics are more and more about the $ and not much
else, not so much the competitors but the people behind it.

IOC is cracking down on drugs tests big time with updating their tests and adding new ones for newer drugs.

Have read they work hard to stop it. Problem is, theres other people
working just as hard to make up new things, new ways of fooling
the system, so its a hard, long fight with unsure outcome. Alot of athletes
are clean, but theres always someone doing whatever it takes to win, always.

When i was 17 i got the offer to do some steroids, a friend of mine was
into them big time. And omg, you wouldn`t belive how big he got and
how fast he got there. He even used growth-hormons affecting his height.
And he was all over me "come on man, your so small, you need this, just
look at me" and he was a house of a man., something like the big black guy
from "the green mile" with Tom Hanks. I said no way. Didnt do any of
it, never touched it. 4 years later my friend had to do an operation to remove
his woman breasts.. and then the real problems started for him, just piling
up, liver gone, kidneys gone, brain gone.. Oh man am i glad i never did that!! !
I dont even know if he`s still breathing, probably isn`t... Because if i dont remember
wrong, his heart, which also is a muscle, also started growing, and thats just no good..

I thought the opening ceremonies were interesting because I liked looking at all the people from all the different countries...but um...yep.....that's about it.

Flakey and I watched the ceremony at our favorite chinese restauraunt, which is called 888 and they were serving 88 free beers, 8 bottles of wine, and chocolate cake and the date was 8/8/08

that is probably all I will see of the olympics.

the video was Flakey's idea..and now he wants to somehow film the whole raggedy olympics...
I was upset because I had worked hard to line all my raggedies up on the top of a wall in order of size...and he had to take them all down...

Ya other people think the OLYMPICS SUCK!! !! YES!! !! !! On the side of sports I watch the occassional Nascar race and I'm a sucker for a good Super Bowl+commercials ( IMO this year was good! The underdogs the Giants WHICH NO ONE EXPECTED TO WIN WHOOPED THE PATRIOTS WINNING STREAK HA HA HA HA!! !!) Mostly though the game is boring and I watch for commercials. Someone mention Billards I like the Trick shot shows (there's this one guy who can hit a ball from the table into a boot!! !) I never know when they are on though! I also watch Poker on rare occassions. :-)

I am in the minority here. The Olympic Games are one of my obsessions.
