From my reading South Ossetia wanted to be an independent state and doesn't want to be part of Georgia.

The fact is Georgia invaded South Ossetia so they started the mess, then Russia responded.

So Georgia is the aggressor and is in the wrong, despite the bias against Russia in the media.

I voted Russia on this one.

Well, let them kill each other and get it over with then,
its idiotic no matter whos fault it is. Someone obviously
started something, now if someone just could come to
their senses and end it!
